What is our primary use case?
The use case is to retain the reports that are currently on our mainframe, in a distributed system environment. That mainframe is in the process of going away. We will use Mobius so that those reports can be exposed at any time, once the mainframe is gone.
How has it helped my organization?
It has improved the time to content-presentation. It gives us quicker access. We realized those benefits immediately. The Mobius Content Management Services platform has greatly improved our productivity. The time from creation to access is much better, meaning reports are immediately accessible at generation. We have gone from it taking, at times, minutes to expose, to milliseconds to expose.
The solution has also greatly helped to reduce compliance risk. The set-and-forget policies across federated repositories are great. They are very dependable. And because of the quick access time, there has been a significant effect on our response time to audits. We don't have to sit around and wait for reports to come back up. They're instantaneous.
What is most valuable?
The usability, the ease of access, are among the most valuable features, as well as the improved functionality it gives us.
Also, the solution's content interoperability for business systems and applications, as well as content, is very intuitive, highly user-friendly, and well received.
Another important feature is that Mobius provides a single pane of glass for delivering content from multiple repositories.
It is also highly recommended because of the ease of use when it comes to searching and retrieving from multiple repositories simultaneously.
And I would highly endorse it as well for helping to provide secure access to information anytime and anywhere. That secure access is very important because of our content security requirements. I also rate it "high" for automating the governance of information while meeting global and regional data security privacy laws and regulations.
What needs improvement?
The setup and the support could be improved when it comes to populating the reports from a mainframe environment.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've used Mobius on the mainframe for 30 years. We just added Mobius View two years ago.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is very good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is very good as well.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support is good.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
On the mainframe, we have always used this product, but there are other repository-type products that we maintain. Hyland OnBase is one of them. Those two products are going to coexist because of the differentiation between their uses.
How was the initial setup?
The initial deployment was pretty straightforward. It took us a couple of weeks to deploy. We use it in multiple departments and one location, with about 200 end-users.
The maintenance involved is nothing irregular and is taken care of by two people. It has helped reduce our maintenance costs.
What about the implementation team?
We engaged ASG's professional services to walk us through the setup and configuration. For Mobius View, there were only two people involved from our side.
What was our ROI?
We are seeing ROI in the cost reduction from a mainframe product to a distributed system product.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing and licensing are commensurate with other solutions in the market that handle a distributed system environment.
What other advice do I have?
My advice would be to do a proof of concept first.
We've used most of its features. I can't think of anything that should be added. It's so much better than what we were used to. I don't know what could be better at this point.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
