What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of the solution stem from the advanced security features it offers. My company wanted a VPN because we didn't want our overall network to be connected via a public network. Based on my company's requirement to have a tool that secures our network and provides some additional protection, the IT team came up with SonicWall Connect Tunnel.
What needs improvement?
The product's configuration, administration, and user interface are areas of concern. From an improvement perspective, the configuration, administration, and user interface must be simplified. The product's user interface needs to be easy to use.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SonicWall Connect Tunnel for three years. I am a customer of SonicWall Connect Tunnel.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Till now, my company has not found any issues with the stability of the product. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Considering the functionality aspect of the scalability component, I rate the tool a nine out of ten. For the ease of use of this scalability feature, I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
My company has not used much of the technical support since we haven't had any problems with the product. When my company purchased the product, we had to depend on the implementation partners to help us deal with the configurations of the tool during the initial weeks.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Though I have not worked with products with features similar to SonicWall Connect Tunnel, I have dealt with Sophos in the lesser configuration part.
How was the initial setup?
The product's installation part is not difficult.
Around two or three people were required to work on the deployment process.
The solution can be deployed in a day and a half.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product is expensive. Two or three years ago, when the solution was purchased for our company, I remember that it was not the cheapest compared to the tools offered by competitors.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The features offered by SonicWall Connect Tunnel and Sophos are different from each other. Initially, my company didn't have a VPN connection. My company wanted a VPN, and we also wanted to check VPN firewalls. After some evaluation processes in my company, one of the teams suggested we use SonicWall Connect Tunnel.
What other advice do I have?
The product's feature to secure remote access needs is an area that is looked after by the IT team in our company.
I work in a healthcare organization where we need to protect certain private information. My organization does not focus on network or database protection. I know about the VPN encryption in the tool.
My company has not faced any problems with the product's performance, speed, and connectivity. Performance-wise, my company is satisfied with the product.
I will tell those who plan to purchase the product that they need to look at the level of security or encryption they expect for their environment. If there is a requirement for the different networks in the domain of those who planned to purchase the product to be isolated, then it should be done.
