I am using SonicWall Email Security as a company security device to secure my network.

We are using all email security solutions, firewall, and VPN solutions.

It is a good product for SMEs and mid-sized companies up to 400-500 users. In their next six to seven generation, which I have not tested, there are many features we are planning to migrate to in the SonicWall Email Security next version such as NSA 2700 in the next couple of years.

The features include authentication, IM security, and Cloud system functionality. They have mostly improved in the analytics part, which is available in the new generation.

I do not work with Cloud Secure Edge, CSE, or SMA apart from SonicWall NSA.

I am not satisfied with phishing protection, as it falls completely under the email domain security.

The customizable policy configuration does not help to tailor email security overall because our systems are not integrated with SonicWall Email Security.

We are not using reporting and analytics because it requires completely different software.

While all required features are available in SonicWall Email Security for SMBs and startups, we lack analytics features. They provide an option to purchase a complete separate product for analytics, but despite initially having purchased the paper license, due to technical limitations or changes, we cannot use that product. Now they require additional fees to access the analytics feature.

We have been using SonicWall Email Security for five years.

We are not using reporting and analytics because it requires completely different software.

There are currently no stability issues in mind as a problem.

The solution is completely scalable. I would rate its scalability as eight out of ten.

Technical support from SonicWall Email Security is great with no issues.

There are no other concerns regarding additional features.

SonicWall Email Security was used for security purposes, which aligns with the product's core function.

I have experience with Cisco and other vendors like Sophos. I have more than 10 years of experience in this field. I worked with the Adaptive Reputation Management feature of SonicWall. Machine learning plays an important role in updating threat intelligence, particularly with SonicWall. The pricing for SonicWall Email Security is reasonable and budget-friendly. My overall rating for SonicWall Email Security is 8 out of 10 because, apart from the areas that need improvement, it was overall good.

SonicWall Email Security uses multi-layer cloud security. It filters emails before they come to my provider, such as Office 365. It has real-time threat intelligence and provides strong data loss prevention. Additionally, it filters emails before they reach my organization and includes real-time scanning.

The pricing could be improved.

All the technicians are involved in the deployment process; it’s not just a job for one person.

We are using SonicWall Email Security for protection against threats, such as ransomware and phishing.

SonicWall Email Security has benefited the company by preventing attacks. We are being protected from attacks, such as ransomware, phishing, and everything else. For example, the solution will notify the IT team that phishing emails have been blocked.

The most valuable feature of SonicWall Email Security is the blocking of emails using keywords. If there are any particular keywords in the subject, that we want to block from receiving from a particular person we can do it. Additionally, the blocking of emails is easy. we can release that one and we can block some of the keywords also like that.

SonicWall Email Security could improve by making the file blocking and the release feature easier to use

I have been using SonicWall Email Security for approximately two years.

SonicWall Email Security is stable.

SonicWall Email Security is scalable, but the price per license is expensive.

We have approximately 150 users using the solution.

The support from SonicWall Email Security is excellent.

The overall price of SonicWall Email Security should be reduced and there should be an option to purchase one or two licenses more instead of their current policy of bulk increases only. There should be more flexibility in the licensing model. Each license cost approximately $33 annually.

We use SonicWall Email Security for spam protection purposes.

The product is easy to manage in terms of configurations.

The product’s checking system to monitor outgoing mail, several messages, and server blocks could be better. Currently, we encounter issues keeping track of actual messages sent out from the server. Additionally, there could be definition updates included in the subscription.

We have been using SonicWall Email Security for around three years.

We haven’t come across system downtime.

I rate the product’s scalability a six out of ten. We have 200 users for it in our organization.

It is difficult to contact SonicWall Email Security’s technical support team.

The product does not provide 100% protection. I rate it as a six out of ten.

We use this solution for firewalls, email security, and anti-virus.

Our mail server has around 4,000 mail IDs.

We started using this solution in December, but we haven't seen the results that we were expecting. The protection level for email security isn't 100%.

SonicWall isn't integrated with my mail server. It protects on a firewall level only. I would like to have a direct connection to the email server after deploying the solution. I'm still getting some spam and junk mail. Maybe more updates are required. That issue has already been escalated to the SonicWall support team.

Support is okay. Sometimes they're not available on the day when we face the issue, which creates some extra work.

We tried to explore Sophos, but we didn't get a better deal.

Setup was easy. It took about 30 minutes.

The cost is cheaper than Sophos. I would rate it as five out of ten.

My primary use case of Email Security is for email scanning. The solution checks for spam or phishing activities, as well as viruses of any sort. I'm the managing director of the company and we have a partnership with Sonicwall. 

I think all the features are valuable. There are no wasted extras and the interface is really simple, so even if you don't have an IT background you can understand the working procedure, and how systems are monitored. 

I'd like to see updates released more frequently and it would be helpful if the solution could catch ransomware more quickly than other OEMs. Those are the two main things that could be improved. Previously, we had an issue with a faulty appliance and had to wait over two weeks for a replacement. It really shouldn't take that long. For some reason, SonicWall hasn't developed a marketing strategy here in Bangladesh and they should work on that. People here know about Cisco and Barracuda and Dell, but SonicWall is far behind and I have to convince clients to try it. 

I've been using this solution for a year. 

The solution is reliable and stable. It may be a little behind Barracuda but we haven't had any problems. 

Scalability is okay overall. We've just completed implementation on a project and the scalability was fine. 

We're satisfied with the customer support and so are our clients. 

The process of implementation was complex because our engineers are not sufficiently trained in SonicWall and we were reliant on support from Switzerland. It was complicated. I wouldn't say that the solution requires maintenance but there are rule changes that occur and need to be applied to email security.

Licensing costs are middle of the road; not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. I think it would be helpful if they would lower their prices for a couple of years until the product becomes more well known here. Barracuda is expensive but everyone knows the name and they're willing to pay the price. 

SonicWall has various kinds of email security appliances for small, mid-level enterprise, and large-level enterprise organizations. If the email security engine is up to the mark, there is no issue. It's very flexible - the project I'm working on now has 300 users, but they're planning to increase to 1,000 users and possibly eventually 2,000 users. If costs are prohibitive for the on-prem version, then I'd recommend the virtual platform.

For now, I rate this solution seven out of 10. I'm sure it will improve. 

We use the solution to protect the network from targeted phishing campaigns. Using it, we can filter malicious emails with sandboxing feature.

The solution provides 24/7 threat detection alerts, historical data on email origins, and filters to detect malicious domains.

They should integrate the solution with third-party platforms.

We have been using the solution for more than three years now.

It is quite a stable solution. I rate its stability as a nine.

It is a very scalable solution and works best in any environment. We have more than five enterprise customers and two major healthcare customers of the solution.

The solution's technical support team is helpful.

The complexity of the solution's initial setup varies depending on the use cases. The deployment takes around two to three days. We have to rely on the service provider's details to route email traffic from the existing setup during configuration. It becomes a time-consuming process for us.

We rely on the solution's global tech support for implementation. Although, we only get help while providing proof of concept if the customers have active licenses.

Our customers purchase the solution's yearly license.

I rate the solution as an eight. I advise others to collaborate with a local support team with prior experience using SonicWall.

When compared with Cisco, it is very well priced. Cisco is very expensive.
