What is our primary use case?

I use Perimeter 81 mostly for remote work. I work in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment overseeing a team of about four or five people who regularly need urgent assistance. I also host group meetings that require me to use other applications that need a VPN. Perimeter 81 has helped me stay connected right around the clock with almost no need for IT app support each day. Dealing with clients online requires good VPN hosting, and Perimeter 81 has provided that

How has it helped my organization?

Perimeter 81 has been a game-changer at my company. Service delivery has improved internally and externally. We had lots of dropped VPN signals with our previous provider, so it was refreshing when we started testing Perimeter 81. We are now considering switching all of our remote employees to Perimeter 81 based on the experiences that the initial users shared during our bi-weekly department and company meetings. 

What is most valuable?

It connects quickly and stays connected. The user interface is pretty neat too. There is also a diagnostic feature that helps you troubleshoot any issue you have, but I've never had to use this because I haven't had any issues. 

What needs improvement?

If I were to be nitpicky, I would ask that Perimeter 81 offer the option for us to change the color of the graphical user interface, like maybe pink or green or so on.

Helpful technical support with great single sign-on functionality and a seamless login experience

What is our primary use case?

The solution provides access to our own environments. Our environments are usually restricted by IP from external access, so I cannot access it from a regular internet connection. I can with this product. 

We also have a system in place that allows us to access to our own SSO login for our customer environments, without having to use individual logins for all of our customers. By doing so, we protect our customer environments from external public access, which is vital to our customers - especially in the onboarding phase of the lifecycle.

How has it helped my organization?

It helps to quickly get access to the pages I need. 

The overall login experience is seamless and usually also has no issues. I rarely have to restart the service. 

The service offers decent speed without interruptions, which allows me to work and focus without distractions or interruptions to what I am trying to achieve. This is reducing my work stress a lot as switching focus constantly has a negative impact on the quality of our products and services, which would affect our customer sentiment in a negative way.

What is most valuable?

The tool does offer a single sign-on for businesses. This means that I no longer have to remember a separate, individual password for this tool. Other tools require that, which is a big downside as I used to have to retrieve this password from my mails every time that I attempted to perform a login to the service. 

With single sign-on, the system will automatically detect who I am and which organization I belong to. This speeds up the process and even a restart of the system will not require me to lose time.

What needs improvement?

There is not much to improve. 

Currently, I am not able to define a different country or location, which can result in negative experiences as the tool is being recognized by websites and this can make it difficult to access them or force me to disable the program temporarily. This could also be solved, however, this issue might be related to the way in which we have set up our current implementation of this service. This does not have to be a global shortcoming when using this service.

We've used the solution for about two years.

The product is very stable so far. We have been connected for 36 hours without issue.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is very scalable; it is easy to add more seats.

What is our primary use case?

We are using Perimeter 81 for secure network connections while working remotely.

As my entire team is working remotely, we were looking for a simple and secure remote access solution and we went with Perimeter 81. So far, we have been super happy with Perimeter 81’s affordable and simple to manage solution.

We initially started to use Perimeter 81 for their networking features but recently we integrated their split-tunneling feature and their simple Google Authenticator two-factor authentication integration. Both features have been game-changers for us.

How has it helped my organization?

Simply, Perimeter 81 has allowed me to easily manage all our user access to my company’s networks in one platform.

Additionally, my employees can quickly connect to a reliable and more secure network connection while working outside the office. Instead of manually connecting to a VPN, all of my employees are automatically connected to Perimeter 81 when they open their computer or other company devices.

Since implementing Perimeter 81 we are seeing an increase in network performance and employee productivity.

What is most valuable?

Their split tunneling feature has been very valuable to our company since implementing the Perimeter 81 solution.

We were able to configure tunnels to our IP addresses for specific user access, including application access to any devices no matter their location. This has helped me make sure the right users are getting the right access to their work resources to do their daily job.

Also, I am very happy with their MFA feature. It was very easy to integrate with our two-factor authentication and simplified the authorization process for all of our employees to gain network access.

What needs improvement?

I would suggest adding more networking and security features that allow more customization within their platform.

So far, I am very happy with their simple network management platform. However, I feel such features as SD-WAN, Firewalls, and more real-time alerts would take this solution to the next level. By adding these networking and security features, it will allow me to customize my company's network security to the level I am seeking.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Perimeter 81 for three months.

We did not use another solution prior to Perimeter 81.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Overall I am very happy with the solution’s flexibility and pricing. Very fair dissolution for the price I am paying.

The product’s ability to block phishing sites is valuable. It protects me from malware.

What needs improvement?

The product is a bit heavy on the machine. Sometimes, the product is very slow. When we connect an external hard disk, it takes the product quite some time to go through the files and allow us to access them.

I have been using the solution for more than six months.

I rate the tool’s stability a seven out of ten.

The tool is quite scalable. We have around eight users.

We have had a couple of issues for which we contacted the technical support team. It takes long for the team to respond. It takes some time before the initial point of contact, but after that, it is fine.

The deployment is quite easy and fast. I rate the ease of deployment an eight out of ten. The solution is deployed on the cloud. The deployment took us an hour.

What other advice do I have?

People who want to use the solution must start with the minimal features possible and scale up slowly, depending on how it interacts with their system. Overall, I rate the tool a seven and a half out of ten.

The initial setup is easy. We must first install it on a machine and then access the connection for deployment. If you go with the standard setup, it won’t take much time, but with a database, it takes some time.

The solution is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

The solution’s maintenance is easy. Since the data collector is free, they don’t provide any support. Web filtering is paid, so they provide support for it.

Before you go with the solution, ensure to check the certificate.
Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Fast, easy to upgrade, and offers good support

What is our primary use case?

We use the Perimeter 81 solution for our service desk and for supporting our customers. Our operators can work from home without any problems. Also, I can use the VPN P81 from my Android device to give support to our customers at any moment. 

What is most valuable?

The VPN endpoint is very fast and easy to upgrade. The console is very simple to use. I can manage users and groups quickly. I used the P81 support and I can confirm that it's working properly. They have fixed our problems very quickly.

What needs improvement?

In the future, maybe P81 can improve the network traffic balancing and redundancy.
