Passwordless login has transformed daily accounting work and now saves hours on support calls
The cloud-based feature of 1Kosmos BlockID stands out because when working on SAP, it often went down due to memory size, but since 1Kosmos BlockID is cloud-based, downtime is not experienced. The second standout feature is the login ID and password recognition; it allows the right person to log in without manual entry of usernames and passwords, making 1Kosmos BlockID very helpful in any situation. 1Kosmos BlockID offers passwordless authentication that eliminates 2FA. It operates through biometric authentications, such as facial recognition and thumb impressions, which are compliant security keys for enterprise applications. Identity verification is another strong feature; if 1Kosmos BlockID recognizes a user, it ensures that the right person is logging in. It uses AI and machine learning to scan government-issued IDs, licenses, and passports, matching them with user biometrics for 100% accuracy. The digital wallet feature also stores user identity information in a private or permissioned blockchain, allowing users to control their personal data. It meets high assurance standards, including NIST 800-63-3 and GDPR, and supports both app-based and browser-based user journeys for onboarding and authentication. 1Kosmos BlockID has positively impacted the organization by enhancing security through eliminating usernames and passwords and storing encrypted user data in a private permissioned blockchain, which drastically reduces the risk of data breaches and phishing. Furthermore, it has improved operational efficiency by streamlining the user experience, reducing help desk calls for password resets and simplifying identity management, thus increasing overall productivity. In terms of time savings, for a team of 15 people, a monthly saving of around eight to ten hours has been observed after using 1Kosmos BlockID. Before its implementation, the IT help desk faced 300 to 500 calls a month. After using 1Kosmos BlockID, that number reduced to just 70 to 80 calls monthly, significantly alleviating common password-related issues.

Hardware authentication has reduced password resets and now secures access against phishing
The best features Yubico YubiKey offers are the major reasons we use it as a hardware MFA to create a token because it is phishing resistant. It guarantees the authentication works on a valid cryptographically verified domain, and it supports multiple protocols and authenticator capability. It is based on challenge-response mode, and it has extremely physical durability. It has a dual interface where you can plug it into a laptop or against an iOS and Android mobile phone. The private keys are generated directly on the internal secure chip and can never be exported by the host system or malware. Reducing password reset and MFA lockout support tickets by 75% has reclaimed the engineering capacity, which can be redirected towards more core infrastructure priorities, such as automating the security pipelines, improving asset management, and building internal CLI AI tooling. It has eliminated employee downtime and has simpler compliance and lower operational friction.

Pros

"We have seen password-related help desk tickets drop by roughly 40%, and employees now spend noticeably less time dealing with login and account recovery issues."
"1Kosmos BlockID has provided a return on investment by significantly reducing the need for IT personnel, with the reduced ticket volume from 300 to 500 to just 70 to 80 calls monthly, so only two IT staff members are now required, saving costs equivalent to around 80 lakhs per year."
"1Kosmos BlockID has positively impacted my organization by making our workflow easier because it does not have long procedures and manual paperwork; it is more digital and faster."
"I would highly recommend using 1Kosmos BlockID because I came to know that purchasing the license is lesser when compared to Microsoft or Okta."
"1Kosmos BlockID has improved my organization's identity verification process by making authentication faster, more secure, and easier to manage."
"1Kosmos BlockID delivers excellent passwordless authentication, biometric identity verification, and adaptive MFA with strong security and a smooth user experience, though the only areas for improvement are the admin interface, reporting capabilities, and simplifying deployment and integrations."
"It impacted us in a very positive way because everyone integrated with this and we are saving a lot of time."
"My advice to others looking into using 1Kosmos BlockID is that it is a wonderful product for passwordless authentication."
"The solution is simple to use and we have installed it in our clients' endpoints. The tool is just plug-and-play for the end user. The end user can just put in the key to the security computer and log in without any hassle. The solution is efficient, user-friendly, and easy to use."
"Yubico YubiKey is highly valued for its anti-phishing feature, which prevents phishing of OTPs that are normally obtained through phones."
"YubiKey is a hardware security device with advanced security features."
"It's small and lightweight. Like a phone, it doesn't run out of battery. It also doesn't have to be unlocked. It doesn't break. Moreover, they're very durable and it's very convenient."
"Reducing password reset and MFA lockout support tickets by 75% has reclaimed the engineering capacity, which can be redirected towards more core infrastructure priorities, such as automating the security pipelines, improving asset management, and building internal CLI AI tooling."

Cons

"There were issues with multifactor authentication where the ID or the app was not able to let me in."
"My experience with 1Kosmos BlockID in terms of pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it could be cheaper; it is somewhat expensive, but I believe it could be more affordable."
"I choose 9 out of 10 because there are one or two improvements needed."
"The platform could be improved with more customization options for reporting and a simpler initial setup process for administrators."
"1Kosmos BlockID could be improved with a more intuitive admin interface, simpler initial deployment, enhanced reporting, and broader out-of-the-box integrations with third-party applications."
"It could be improved because sometimes when I'm trying to authenticate that application using 1Kosmos BlockID, it gives the error of connection timeout or something and we need to try it later."
"The only thing is that the OTP is available for only 30 seconds before it disappears and a new OTP comes up."
"It's a hardware device, so it isn't cost-effective to use for all your accounts. You might have a hard time getting budget approval. It's better to take a strategic approach and use it only for critical accounts. You can use other forms of authentication for the rest."
"Yubico YubiKey is inconvient. No one likes the idea of having to put a USB device into the system, having to remember to take it out, and having passwords. It may be very good for security but it is not great for people to use."
"Yubico YubiKey could be improved by allowing for centralized administration, which is not currently available in India."
"It would be better if the product can come up with a serial number for the keys. It would be nice if they had a numbering system as a configuration identity that would help the IT and technical teams to identify the keys because they look all the same. It would be more like putting a tag on them."
"Yubico YubiKey is one per user and I do not believe it is very scalable."
"Currently, an area where the product lacks is in addressing service needs."
