Have significantly reduced audit hours through automation and advanced data integration with robust connectors
The key feature of ACL Analytics is integration, which allows for vast amounts of data sources you can connect to. The tool itself allows you to integrate it into your audit work in terms of taking exceptions that you receive from your analytics. It provides integration into your GRC platform and into your audit working files, and then one key thing is the vast amounts of connectors. We have seen a return on investment as we have mostly reduced working hours for the audit engagements. If an auditor was normally budgeted to take 600 hours, we have implemented a solution to take those audit hours down to 200 hours. We are mostly taking those metrics.

Streamlined workflow and enhanced simplicity with an easy setup
I used AuditBoard primarily for risk assessment questionnaires in a very premature risk environment. I also have experience with IBM OpenPages, mostly for operational risk to track issues, to look at risks and controls The collaboration within my team had not yet significantly changed since…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I recommend ACL Analytics because it makes work easier and is user-friendly."
"We apply different methods, such as sampling, data manipulation, and sorting. I'm fond of the scripting feature, which automates routine tasks and saves time. It also offers data insights."
"I did not have any problems with the stability of ACL Analytics."
"The most valuable feature of ACL Analytics is its powerful data control capabilities."
"It improved my organization using an automated audit revision with scripts."
"It is very flexible and has hundreds of functions."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its ability to import files from other software packages. Its reporting and visualization capabilities have made our reporting easier. Importing results into spreadsheets or other documents for incorporation into reports is particularly helpful."
"We have seen a return on investment as we have mostly reduced working hours for the audit engagements."
"The most valuable feature of AuditBoard is its ability to facilitate the editing of work papers in a seamless and efficient manner. This is achieved through a built-in tool that allows for real-time editing without the need for downloading the working paper. This feature has proven to be incredibly time-saving for me as it eliminates the step of having to download the file and make changes, instead providing an easy-to-access "edit work paper" option. Overall, this feature has greatly improved my experience with AuditBoard and has been a significant contributor to its success in my opinion."
"The most valuable feature is the well-documented instruction."
"The most valuable feature is that everybody can use the same tool. You can give a person permission to use AuditBoard and define their access to the Audit Table. For example, we can allow external auditors or clients to review our completed tests. The clients are attached to specific tests that happen regularly, like inventory counts and asset counts. Debt compliance is only done once annually."
"For AuditBoard, the simple workflow made it very easy to code with the group."
"Its ability to share the data in real-time has helped us well."
"There are lots of features."
"AuditBoard has several solutions for governance, internal audit, and other categories."
"AuditBoard is very user-friendly compared to other audit management software I have used in the past."

Cons

"Reporting and presentation of information directly to solutions, such as PowerPoint."
"I believe the formulas and scripting language in ACL Analytics need development to be easier for me to use."
"The ease of use could be better."
"Currently, the platform is not very comfortable for users coming from a non-technical or non-coding background."
"We have an issue with the hard coding of passwords in ACL Analytics. You do not have an interface where you can enter a password and then it can be encrypted when you enter it."
"A person must have someone teach them how to use ACL Analytics as a common person cannot use it independently."
"The visualization capabilities in ACL Analytics need more variety and features."
"It would be beneficial if the software could improve its capabilities when extracting data from databases, particularly for those who may not be familiar with SQL queries."
"AuditBoard is overly simple in some instances and there needs to be flexibility to make it more robust."
"The initial setup is somewhat difficult because it has multiple pieces that need to be stitched together. You have to integrate it with the business unit you want to test if you want to go down from the corporate level to the operational level."
"Some of that flexibility could be enhanced. When comparing Archer and TeamMate+, there is a little more open-ended in terms of certain of our audit processes and procedures. And there is significantly greater freedom in creating ad hoc audit processes and procedures, whereas AuditBoard is a little more limiting in this regard."
"AuditBoard could benefit from the addition of video capabilities, although it is not a necessity. Small companies that cannot afford licenses for Microsoft Teams or Zoom would benefit greatly from this feature, as it would enhance the communication process."
"The layout for the end user could be improved."
"After sending out a request to my network for documents, it would be great to have a receipt that shows who received the request and who did not."
"A handful of things in the solution need to be improved. One of them is better communication of updates to the system or tool itself."
"It is not easy to analyze the results of a survey as a whole."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of $5,000 is high, and transferring money from one country to another, particularly in dollars, is challenging due to high exchange rates. Although we managed to purchase it then, the lack of a single license option and the high cost were issues."
"The pricing for me as an individual seems a lot. For our organization, the price is okay. It's about $6,000 a year. I don't know of any additional costs."
"Pricing is variable, like with any technology, and is determined by how hard you wish to negotiate. You can get to a price you're willing to pay if you're willing to negotiate aggressively."
"I highly recommend this tool as the price is reasonable. However, consistent pricing is important, and having a loyalty program that rewards long-term customers with lower prices would be a great addition."
