Hosting complex global sites has ensured reliable 24x7 delivery for worldwide audiences
The support usually worked quite well, but the problem that led us to shift to another platform was also in support, as the quality of service degraded at some point, which became a bit of a problem. Initially, we received really good support in various cases, but it became unsatisfying when we couldn't find clues on particular issues, repeating multiple times. That was the reason to move away at some point, or at least one of the reasons. Our customer project had to be moved from Acquia Cloud to another service, which was dictated by multiple reasons, with one being the price and another being a degrading quality of service. I wish that this quality wasn't falling down and that we would continue the partnership. I am talking mostly about Acquia Cloud and I am not quite sure if it overlaps with Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) because when I see what is mentioned as DXP on Acquia's website, it seems to be a bit different kind of thing, reminding more of no-code, low-code solutions. For Drupal, I believe it is one of the best solutions you may have if you have a considerable contract with Acquia and you agree on the price.

Centralized content management has unified our digital channels and delivers consistent experiences
Adobe Experience Manager offers enterprise-level digital assets management and very robust customization, brand value consistency, and omnichannel delivery. It saves development and maintenance time. The digital asset management and omnichannel delivery features have benefited my team by managing our digital assets, ensuring brand consistency, and enabling us to deliver customized content easily to our clients. Organizing and obtaining information from results is beneficial. Strengthening our online experience as a brand is valuable. Easy integration with other Adobe services improves productivity and provides a smooth experience. Adobe Experience Manager has positively impacted my organization by enabling component and page reuse, which reduces application size. It saves manual effort for maintaining all applications, improves traffic, and ensures consistency across all our applications. It provides better security, scalability, and makes our applications more robust.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) has positively impacted my organization by improving speed to market, where opening up a new country allowed us to put the content together very rapidly, reducing the time from a good three months previously down to six to eight weeks."
"Since moving to Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP), we have saved approximately three times the amount of time in deployment and site creation processes."
"Building pages using Site Studio components was very easy, and using Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for our website and project was really great."
"Overall, my primary use case is best described as creating a scalable, secure, personalized, and centrally governed digital experience ecosystem that supports academic operations, institutional branding, and stakeholder engagement."
"Based on my experience with their services, Acquia Cloud that we have been using, or Acquia hosting, is next to a native solution for Drupal projects, making it probably one of the best hosting solutions available, even though it has its flaws and we eventually had to shift to another one."
"Content Hub provides a centralized way to manage content."
"Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) offers the ability to provide a managed services cloud hosting environment for Drupal CMS, which is an open-source platform and can be a challenge to maintain independently due to the frequent updating and security patching required."
"Every user is almost like a mini administrator, which spoke well to how they were connected globally."
"Adobe Experience Manager is pretty stable."
"Adobe Experience Manager offers several best features, including user-friendliness and a more secure platform than any other content management systems I have worked with."
"If you're looking for a .NET based CMS, do yourself a favor and go with an open source CMS."
"Being able to connect everything to one universal system was a game changer for us, giving us an overall better digital experience."
"Adobe Experience Manager is a content management system, and we use it to create and manage a website."
"I think DAM (Digital Asset Management) is most valuable to me; the data is increasing, and in order to manage millions of assets which a large enterprise has, it provides lots of capabilities (searching, reporting, managing, workflows for automation, etc.)."
"I'm quite happy with the platform."
"AEM is a CMS and so much more, it requires more of my skills."

Cons

"While Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) works beautifully and provides an overall positive experience, there are areas where it could be improved."
"One area where Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) can be improved is the cost structure, as it's quite an expensive solution for what it is."
"Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) can be improved because sometimes it takes a lot of time."
"We faced loading issues, performance issues, and some kind of optimization issues on some pages."
"Additionally, the licensing and pricing may challenge small organizations with limited budgets; offering more flexible pricing models or feature packages could make the platform more accessible to a wider range of businesses."
"The main improvement needed for Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) is related to its complexity, as it is not that lightweight with a surfeit of features, requiring users to read up on all the myriad of features, and while it is a sophisticated enterprise product that necessitates that complexity, the learning curve can be a bit steep for less experienced users needing quick task completion."
"Once the site was originally developed, it needed to be transferred onto Acquia, which was quite a task."
"Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP) could be improved by allowing more customization options, as it currently has limitations with hooks in its core Drupal system that prevent us from making custom modules easily."
"The tech support from Adobe is slow to respond and takes a lot of time to fix product related bugs."
"I assigned a rating of eight because there are certain limitations we must consider, and there are restrictions in Adobe Experience Manager that we cannot resolve."
"AEM, when setup using Mongo, rapidly gains size; hence it consumes a lot of storage space in a very short period of time."
"Bug troubleshooting is challenging and requires developer expertise."
"Adobe's technical support is so-so."
"A little bit of background knowledge of coding and website structure is required."
"The pricing and setup cost for Adobe Experience Manager is a bit higher compared to different content management tools."
"Tool-wise, the Adobe Experience Manager support team is not very responsive when the user face issues in AEM as a Cloud Service."
