Acronis Cyber Protect and BDRShield compete in the data protection and backup solutions category. Acronis Cyber Protect seems to have the upper hand due to its comprehensive feature set, including advanced ransomware protection and flexibility.
Features: Acronis Cyber Protect includes data backup, universal restore, and advanced ransomware protection. Cloning, disk imaging, and live boot restore offer diverse recovery options. Compatibility with Windows and Linux enhances flexibility. BDRShield supports ease of use and various backup scenarios, including virtual machine and application-aware backups but lacks some advanced features found in Acronis.
Room for Improvement: Acronis Cyber Protect could enhance installation simplicity, support responsiveness, particularly with legacy systems, and optimize storage demands. BDRShield users seek an improved user interface, more responsive support, and comprehensive documentation, especially for complex configurations.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Acronis Cyber Protect is versatile, fitting Hybrid Cloud, Public Cloud, and On-premises installations but might challenge first-time users. Customer service varies from slow to excellent. BDRShield is simpler to deploy for basic setups, compatible with On-premises and Private Clouds, but customer service quality varies, with some reports of delayed issue resolution.
Pricing and ROI: Acronis Cyber Protect is a higher-priced option with robust features providing good ROI in data security, though licenses may confuse some users. BDRShield is budget-friendly for SMBs, offering decent value for small-scale operations, though costs increase as services scale.
My customers see value in money and ROI with Acronis Cyber Protect, so they purchase it.
Whenever I have a question, they respond very quickly each time.
I'll give them a nine for how responsive they are in technical support.
We go to our control system OEM for support, including backup, restoration, and cybersecurity protocols.
Not needing technical support is even better than good technical support.
Acronis Cyber Protect is a scalable product.
I would rate it eight on a scale from 1 to 10 for scalability, considering it will be multiple assets.
It ended up being at a point where we actually had to disable some features in order for the client to work through that specific purpose.
The stability of Acronis Cyber Protect is very high.
We are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.
It's only after we discovered there was a compatibility issue with the application that the client was running that we actually had to do a lot of log file shipping to Acronis themselves and getting solutions because of other problems.
Having something such as a community for peer-to-peer interaction would be a valuable asset.
There could always be little things that could still be fixed or improved for stability.
I would rate the price as nine out of ten.
The biggest benefit of Acronis Cyber Protect for my customers is that it is a great asset to protect business data and ensure data is in a secure Vault.
It also encrypts your backups and makes it safe, so it doesn't get affected with viruses.
This is beneficial because any backup package stored in the cloud is not free, and if it shrinks well, it allows users to pay less for cloud storage.
The features I find most valuable are ease of backup, ease of restore, the full restore, just getting some data out of a backup server or even the applications that are in the server, going through the database or going to Exchange.
