Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The recent release, Acronis 12, is integrated with Cloud Acronis and is useful to backup data while providing a stronger security policy for critical data."
"As far as I'm concerned, it's rock solid and I'm very pleased with it and I will continue to sell it and support it."
"The licensing model is very good."
"Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
"We tried Acronis and it was easy to use and it worked."
"The image backup and image restore features have been very beneficial to us."
"Stability is always good. I have used Acronis for 10 years now, if not more. I have never had a problem with availability, etc."
"The main reasons that our customers like Acronis are that it is very strong and easy to use."
"Hornet offers unlimited space and time for backups as long as the subscription is continued."

Cons

"The whole product structure is confusing. You can actually get to do what you want to do. But Acronis seems to have a singular ability to make things difficult."
"It does not delete locked files."
"They need to continue working on it to make it work more smoothly and faster."
"The support and documentation must be improved."
"Product has been very unstable since version 10 and all versions since then."
"I have had an issue at times with support, because they weren't able to get to me and I've had to call back after an hour or so, but other than that, I can't be more pleased with the product."
"It does not do what it says on the tin at all."
"Some of the default settings out-of-the-box should already be set up for the novice user. For instance, the warnings that say a hard drive has bad sectors and stops the backup from performing."
"The price might be limiting for some clients in Latin America."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Acronis Backup is cheaper. If you install it on a hypervisor, you only pay for a single license. It would be for the backup server, and everything else will be covered by it. In that sense, it becomes a much cheaper option. However, if you have virtual machines, then it can be more expensive. Also, if you have a lot of physical machines the cost can be higher because each entity will need a separate license. There is a monthly license cost."
"Our licenses come with a one-time yearly subscription fee."
"We pay a yearly subscription fee and the pricing is reasonable."
"Its price is quite friendly on the pocket. You need to pay the licensing cost upfront, and then the support charges are on an annual basis."
"The price of Acronis Backup could be reduced, it is expensive."
"Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
"The tool is cheap compared to other products."
"The price of the solution is expensive and could be reduced a little."
