Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Good policies related to data
I primarily use it for various policies related to data, such as data retention, data deletion, and archiving policies. All policies can be set using this system The most valuable feature for me is the policy management capabilities. I would like to see more integration with different platforms,…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the extra protection, especially for the backup."
"While using this solution for my customers over the past seven years, data loss and other disasters have been prevented and where ransom attacks have occurred, we were able to restore the data where Acronis was used to back up information."
"It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
"The good thing is that it's a central console, and in that console itself, we have multiple options, including a file sync option, the ability to take a second backup with the client's own cloud and a universal backup that is like a complete image of the server backup level, and that restoration is very good on the Acronis side compared to other products."
"I can encrypt the data, I can make it send me an email if it fails. It lets me choose which files I want to ignore during backup."
"In my opinion, it's the best product for end-users and PCs."
"Built in backup schemes are available within the software to fulfill most common backup tasks while you can configure detailed settings to meet your specific backup requirements."
"The main reason we went with Acronis Cyber Protect is because it provides a virtual machine backup feature."
"The flexible ways you can get to the data and the options that it gives you for backing up your valuable data are what make its offsite storage so valuable."
"The most valuable feature for me is the policy management capabilities"

Cons

"Currently, there is no option to use the tape drives again as a backup repository for the cloud deployment."
"It would be nice if it could support more types of storage: EMC, HPE, Veeam, etc."
"A little bit more integration would be good. It should support broader platforms."
"It would be nice to have a partition that I can boot and reinstall when taking a backup image from the operating system."
"Product has been very unstable since version 10 and all versions since then."
"The solution could use a single sign-on integration that can default to the admin dashboard. Right now, it's only username and password. If you had had an additional two-factor authentication, this would be beneficial for me."
"I've had some issues with the understandability of the interface. I think if they had someone with expertise in user interfaces to look at this, they could clean up the user interface."
"Those functions have been removed from the product and it's very frustrating."
"Basically, the only thing I do not like about it, it was keyed off Lotus Notes."
"I would like to see more integration with different platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
"I find the pricing structure satisfactory, it is around $25 per year."
"The current subscription model of Acronis Backup compared to other backup solutions is not costly."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"You don't have to pay for licenses. You can pay per gig per month. It is pretty reasonable, especially when you do it per gig."
"I think that the prices of the product go up every year. If one is extremely expensive and ten is absolutely cheap, I rate the product price as six."
