Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Data restoration is the most valuable feature.
If I access my documents from the mobile app, I am also able to share these documents with accounts in other apps such as email, WhatsApp, Dropbox, google drive, etc. What I'd like is to be able to share a document or folder with other Mozy accounts (users), with limits of either under the same admin domains or even with other domains.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It’s invaluable for disaster recovery and is pretty quick doing a restore."
"Any customer who uses Acronis that has needed to restore anything from their backup has had a 99% success rate, where they have been able to restore data without any problems."
"Acronis is a highly effective product; it's easy to use and manage."
"We are able to remotely backup machines from locations across the United States from one centralized point."
"It is fast and easy for an image-based backup across all platforms."
"The solution suits my business needs; it works perfectly for me."
"The way Acronis Backup is currently, it is one of the best that we have used."
"The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."
"The data restoration feature is the most valuable because the end user requires minimum support to recover lost data."
"I was using Symantec Backup Exec, and we switched because Mozy is easier to use, and the cost is less."
"I've had good experience with the Mac backup client running silently and keeping files backed up."
"The ability to kick start the service live on the users machine; I also like the graphical representations of data space."

Cons

"I got a couple of backup errors and it didn't really give too much detail, but the program was still running on the computer that gave the errors."
"The solution needs to have better stability. I would like to improve the tool’s support through calls."
"There are some frustrating things. One in particular is when you're looking through your logs from the previous night's jobs and you see a warning, and you go in, and you try to dig through to find what exactly the warning meant, and you can't find anything."
"However it lacks advance features like granular backup and data filtering hence unsuitable for enterprise level."
"Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation."
"Yes, mostly with Acronis Snap Deploy, using network deployment, most clients do not automatically get DHCP settings when using dual network adapters on the Server."
"Sometimes backups become corrupted and can not be access via the Recovery Console, You can send the backups too Acronis support (Could take months depending on the size of the backup) and they will try to recover the data, however rarely do."
"Comparatively, depending on the setup, it can be costly."
"The sales support is too poor and there is no point of contact, local representatives are not in positions to assist or even provide a proposal."
"The selection of directories and files to back up can't be managed centrally, it has to be set on each user's computer."
"The support staff were directed to give support on specifics and to stick to the support plan; anything out of the ordinary would be a challenge."
"Automated client deployment was not straightforward and never worked for me."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I find the pricing structure satisfactory, it is around $25 per year."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"We use the free version that provides very basic functionalities."
"You don't have to pay for licenses. You can pay per gig per month. It is pretty reasonable, especially when you do it per gig."
"This is an affordable product and fits within our customers' budgets."
"Acronis Backup is cheaper. If you install it on a hypervisor, you only pay for a single license. It would be for the backup server, and everything else will be covered by it. In that sense, it becomes a much cheaper option. However, if you have virtual machines, then it can be more expensive. Also, if you have a lot of physical machines the cost can be higher because each entity will need a separate license. There is a monthly license cost."
"Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated."
