Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Data restoration is the most valuable feature.
If I access my documents from the mobile app, I am also able to share these documents with accounts in other apps such as email, WhatsApp, Dropbox, google drive, etc. What I'd like is to be able to share a document or folder with other Mozy accounts (users), with limits of either under the same admin domains or even with other domains.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I didn't start using Acronis until I came here 3 years ago - it's what the organization was using already, and I found that I liked it better than Symantec."
"Getting an image of a server machine just for disaster recovery purposes is valuable."
"Some of the most valuable features are recovery, protection against malware, and software management. I am happy with the dashboards and user interface."
"The most valuable features of Acronis Backup are cloning and many other capabilities. For example, you are able to clone the whole operating system and drive. Additionally, the solution is a complete package."
"Acronis is a highly effective product; it's easy to use and manage."
"It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
"Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
"The solution is exceptional for desktop backup."
"I've had good experience with the Mac backup client running silently and keeping files backed up."
"The data restoration feature is the most valuable because the end user requires minimum support to recover lost data."
"I was using Symantec Backup Exec, and we switched because Mozy is easier to use, and the cost is less."
"The ability to kick start the service live on the users machine; I also like the graphical representations of data space."

Cons

"However it lacks advance features like granular backup and data filtering hence unsuitable for enterprise level."
"I would like to have more hardware space. It would make it better."
"There are times when the backups are slow. A faster backup would be better."
"They need to continue working on it to make it work more smoothly and faster."
"It could back up more things. I don't think it can back up Box and some of the other third-party ones. Not that we use them that much, but the more they can do, the better it would be. There could also be better integrations with RMM tools."
"The newer version 12 was a little bit hard to set up and get licensed."
"Version 12.5 only has a web interface which is absolutely unacceptable for this type of product."
"When I first started using Acronis, I found it a little bit confusing when it came to the configuration."
"The sales support is too poor and there is no point of contact, local representatives are not in positions to assist or even provide a proposal."
"The selection of directories and files to back up can't be managed centrally, it has to be set on each user's computer."
"Automated client deployment was not straightforward and never worked for me."
"The support staff were directed to give support on specifics and to stick to the support plan; anything out of the ordinary would be a challenge."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
"We use the free version that provides very basic functionalities."
"Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
"We pay a yearly subscription fee and the pricing is reasonable."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"We have a Cyber Cloud backup license and we have on-premises storage. Both can be useful for our customers."
"The license is a perpetual license. The cost is an area for improvement."
"There are monthly fees to use Acronis Backup."
