Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the fact that you can archive backups quite easily and minimize the amount of space you're using."
"It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately."
"Acronis Backup and Recovery has a simple interface that allows administrators to quickly achieve basic backup tasks and restoration."
"This is a full software so deployment time is very quick."
"The solution is very user-friendly in terms of the interface - especially if you compare it to other solutions such as Veeam or Veritas."
"This solution fulfills all of our needs; its reporting features work flawlessly and it does everything that it's supposed to do once it's setup, without maintenance or any additional time."
"I can encrypt the data, I can make it send me an email if it fails. It lets me choose which files I want to ignore during backup."
"I didn't start using Acronis until I came here 3 years ago - it's what the organization was using already, and I found that I liked it better than Symantec."
"pCloud is one of my favourite cloud storage services that help me to store and share important images, videos, and files."
"After a lot of tests, I found pCloud to be the most secure and affordable solution for independent businesses like myself."
"I trust pCloud to store my business and personal files like photos, videos, university books, etc. pCloud is always there when I need it."
"I can access my files from all kind of devices and operating systems. I do not need any more external flash drives. I can even edit my files directly in the cloud using pCloud Drive."
"The sync process has been quick, and the software correctly maintains the same file structure as in File Explorer."
"Excellent service."
"I like the interface and that they add new features all the time, but I use it mainly for the sync option which keeps my files up to date."
"The pCloud sync server client has worked well in the trial version."

Cons

"One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup."
"I can't select a network location. I have to map a drive on the server, and then I have to select the mapped drive in order for it to put the backup out there."
"It would be nice to have a partition that I can boot and reinstall when taking a backup image from the operating system."
"It could have a better ability to manage backups over a longer period."
"Improved support for immutability and Utility AirGAP could be beneficial."
"Those functions have been removed from the product and it's very frustrating."
"The setup, the initial setup, does different kind of Windows servers and has different kind of agents for different scenarios. Sometimes the initial setup was a little bit complicated."
"The biggest problem that we have is when the antivirus is installed, the whole machine runs very slowly and some of the machines hang."
"I would really like to be able to search entire documents."
"Integration with third-party software mostly. Also, online file editing option for documents."
"I'd like to be able to edit my files via the mobile device without downloading the file on my local space."
"Sometimes the desktop sync can take some moment before starting the sync process. Also, pCloud should improve their customer care service."
"My recommendation is that support could be better, even though sometimes things can be technically complicated."
"I would like to be able to edit the files at the same time with the others, but I understand that this is not possible with the cloud solutions in general."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"The tool's subscription costs are monthly. The product's pricing is fair."
"It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
"When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
"The price is reasonable."
"The current subscription model of Acronis Backup compared to other backup solutions is not costly."
"The price of Acronis Backup could be reduced, it is expensive."
"The tool is cheap compared to other products."
