Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

The deduplication technology saves time within a disaster recovery case.
The deduplication technology is the most valuable feature. It saves time within a disaster recovery case I hope that the virtual device in the cloud will get more functionality! I have used this solution for five years. The product is very stable. Due to the fact that it is combined with…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool is user-friendly."
"Centralized management is valuable to us."
"The solution was easy to install and to deploy."
"Post-implementation, this fell to zero and boosted morale by allowing the engineers to enjoy their weekends with their families."
"Upon discovering Acronis, I was fascinated by the flexible granular detailed features of 'what to and where to (multiple locations)' backup and its central management capabilities as opposed to Windows' local system administration."
"For local backups, it has options to back up almost any storage. The back can be either a shared folder or anything you want, it's pretty flexible."
"The solution suits my business needs; it works perfectly for me."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it backs up my systems transparently in the background, and I'm not even conscious of it."
"The deduplication technology is the most valuable feature."
"This device has made it possible for us to almost entirely do away with Tape backup."
"This product is easy to use and does all the work in the background for cloud replication and migration."

Cons

"If we could have a mass deployment option using Acronis, that would be helpful."
"On the cloud side, security could always be better."
"It would be nice to have it on the cloud platform without using third-party equipment."
"Network based data backup and recovery is supported, however network recovery quite often crashes the application."
"There are some frustrating things. One in particular is when you're looking through your logs from the previous night's jobs and you see a warning, and you go in, and you try to dig through to find what exactly the warning meant, and you can't find anything."
"The only problem that I face while using this software is that the backup taken using its older versions do at times create problem while being restored with new versions."
"The manual is too simple."
"GUI for management of backups. Using 11.5 more difficult with keeping on tabs with all backup schedules and status of backups, even when using the management console feature of the software."
"I would like more options besides iSCSI."
"I hope that the virtual device in the cloud will get more functionality!"
"Had a SSD drive go bad in one of our older units. This was replaced under our service plan, but during the rebuild process encountered a bad block in another SSD that it was reading from and downed the device hard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If the solution was less expensive it would be better."
"Its price is quite friendly on the pocket. You need to pay the licensing cost upfront, and then the support charges are on an annual basis."
"The tool's subscription costs are monthly. The product's pricing is fair."
"You don't have to pay for licenses. You can pay per gig per month. It is pretty reasonable, especially when you do it per gig."
"It is a low-cost solution."
"The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
"The cost of updates is less than $100 USD yearly."
"Acronis Cyber Protect's pricing is reasonable."
