Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Reliable and issue-free with a helpful onboarding wizard
The solution has been installed on Linux machines.  The solution is issue-free. We are happy with it.  The solution has been stable and reliable.  It is scalable.  My understanding the setup is pretty straightforward and that the onboarding wizard is pretty easy to follow.  I've never had to…

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Every time I've used Acronis in the past - I've been doing this for 25 years - I haven't had any problems."
"It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
"It solved our problem with Linux servers by giving us an image based backup system that is easy to use."
"One of the most valuable features of Acronis is its AnyData Engine which allows any device to connect to any other device for the purpose of data restoration."
"The return on investment was great because it saved us many times, it saved our lives many times."
"Technical support from Acronis is pretty good; it is world-class, with very good and broad support."
"Due to some power failure our 10 systems crashed which were recovered in few minutes by the Acronis recovery partition."
"The good thing is that it's a central console, and in that console itself, we have multiple options, including a file sync option, the ability to take a second backup with the client's own cloud and a universal backup that is like a complete image of the server backup level, and that restoration is very good on the Acronis side compared to other products."
"What I found most valuable in Veeam Agent for Linux is that it can unify machines and even simplify management."
"What I find most valuable about this solution, is that the user experience is very simple."
"I like the incremental backups and their failover."
"Veeam has a "next, next, finish" installer, and the overall deployment is straightforward."
"The really amazing feature about Veeam Agent is that when you're using the central deployment model, you can actually use the instant VM recovery feature, which is really a pain point that I find some days."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It's not complicated. It takes around half an hour to implement, but it depends on the performance of the server that you are installing the backup software on."
"The solution is very user-friendly and has an easy to use interface. We can manage it easily. It allows for a simple backup."
"I would advise others to go ahead and implement it; this is a good solution for disaster recovery, easy to implement and operate, and very fast at recovering the entire environment."

Cons

"The initial setup was complex. We had to deploy it through an external consultant team."
"If we could have a mass deployment option using Acronis, that would be helpful."
"More flexibility with Acronis Linux Console ability to run modules such as the Acronis Windows console; some LINUS modules are locked."
"I can't select a network location. I have to map a drive on the server, and then I have to select the mapped drive in order for it to put the backup out there."
"When an error occurs, the information is not always easy to understand and these messages should be made more clear."
"The manual is too simple."
"One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup."
"When I first started using Acronis, I found it a little bit confusing when it came to the configuration."
"The solution is rather expensive and I think the price is too high."
"Technical support is okay. They could be more customer-friendly."
"Their technical support could be better. I will often find a solution to a problem before they get back to me."
"The solution is pretty stable right now, however, we believe that the solution could be made to be even more stable."
"In new releases, I hope they can support Oracle cloud."
"Scalability, if you are talking about Linux, is good. However, if you need to backup more types of solutions or Unix systems, like HP/UX, AIX, etc., it's not compatible."
"More Linux systems should be made compatible with the solution."
"In the next version, I would like to see an increase in the locations online. I have found that other products have good pickup location."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"I would rate the solution’s pricing an eight out of ten. The tool’s subscription is yearly."
"Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
"Our licenses come with a one-time yearly subscription fee."
"This is an affordable product and fits within our customers' budgets."
"There are monthly fees to use Acronis Backup."
"It is a low-cost solution."
"We have a Cyber Cloud backup license and we have on-premises storage. Both can be useful for our customers."
"Price-wise it's good."
"Licensing costs are $300,000 USD yearly, and we pay for three years at a time."
"We have purchased a license to use Veeam Agent for Linux and the additional support. The overall cost of Veeam Agent for Linux is expensive."
"There's the principal license for Veeam Agent for Linux, and then you need to buy additional licenses for your machines."
"The solution is rather expensive and I think the price is too high."
"Licensing costs are monthly."
"The costing is very competitive."
"It's a subscription based license, which is started on a yearly basis. Currently the licensing is split between three editions: standard, enterprise, and enterprise plus. As long as you check the comparison between the additions and make sure that you have what you need, there are no extra costs with Veeam."
