Strong security reporting has supported our consulting work and drives better integration choices
I rated Adlumin Security Operations probably the same as Huntress at eight. They are better at reporting and better integrations. The integrations in terms of the number of integrations you can run from them or connect to are not as many as available with Huntress, but they have easier implementation. Overall, I would say it is the same. I do not want to see any additional features in the next release of Adlumin Security Operations, but I would change the pricing a little bit for around SIEM integrations and SIEM data collection. That is probably the maximum I would do. I do not really have much to say because that is literally five percent of our deployments versus ninety-five percent being Huntress. My overall rating for this review is eight.

Comprehensive monitoring boosts security, yet incident management features need expansion
Fortinet FortiSIEM should broaden its remediation part to include more features for incident management. Currently, to manage repetitive incidents or for remediation, I need to use a separate software called FortiSOAR. Additionally, the search functionality in FortiAI should be improved to provide more precise results, making it easier for me to understand what actions need to be taken.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We normally focus on Huntress."
"To add workers and even collectors is pretty easy."
"I like FortiSIEM because it integrates natively with our other Fortinet solutions and the Fortinet Fabric, but it also integrates with Cisco, Palo Alto and other security fabrics."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is less costly than other products and is available 24/7."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is easy to use."
"The stability is very reliable. It offers very good performance."
"It's a very nice solution to work with."
"It is used as an alerting platform."
"Easy alert setup which enables different alerts in different categories."

Cons

"Adlumin Security Operations's functionality is probably slightly better, but implementation and integration with Office 365 was not as straightforward."
"Network detection and response is a separate product."
"With FortiSIEM, the issue has to do with the ways we can generate a report. It's not as flexible compared to that with other SIEM tools, like Splunk."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM could improve to extend to several locations or sites."
"Their technical support is horrible. By horrible, I mean a train wreck of a disaster that has fallen off a bridge and caught fire."
"The built-in APIs in Fortinet FortiSIEM are somewhat lacking and could be improved for better integration with external ITSM products."
"Sometimes, if there are changes made by a user on a database server, it can be difficult to get that information on the fly. I would like to see a situation where once I specify a user with the database server I need, and with the changes they have performed on that, I don't need to continue my search pattern to drill down just to get the information."
"When compared with some competitors, in terms of performance, the CPU and RAM requirements and the capability of coordination with development all need some improvement."
"Customer support service could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Its price can be better. We are Fortinet partners, so we can get discounts, but its price can be an issue at the beginning for others. There is a licensing scheme for every case. There are three licensing schemes that we can choose from."
"Fortinet's products are not expensive, it is less than the competition."
"FortiSIEM's licensing is based on EPS, and its pricing is competitive in the market."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is not an expensive solution."
"We pay for a license for FortiSIEM. We pay for the license and renewal."
"The price of the solution is expensive. The license is scalable. If there are 10 devices it is simple to license."
"Pricing is determined based on the customer's budget."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is very cost-efficient compared to other SIEM solutions."
