Easy to set up with good functionality and adaptability.
I'm not sure how it could be better. It has everything I need for my work. It would be ideal if there was more research on the product available. We'd like it to have solutions within the product that can help us complete tasks a bit faster. It would be nice if the solution had some sort of bot or assistant within the solution to help us with work within the product. If we could deploy queries and get an answer faster, within 30 minutes, instead of within a day or two.

Long-term use has streamlined automation and cloud deployment for organizational workflows
Microsoft Visual Studio has done enough from my perspective. I am not a core developer, so I just use the basic tools that I need for basic things. A core developer would easily see additional things that could be done. I am satisfied with what is currently available. I am using the community version of Microsoft Visual Studio, so I would not be in the right position to tell whether it is very expensive. However, I feel the pricing can be lower for small to medium enterprises to afford it. Many smaller organizations still leverage the community version. The cost can be made more affordable for these businesses.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Without Adobe Flash player, I wouldn't be able to do my day-to-day functions."
"The UI is really good."
"I am impressed with the tool’s documentation."
"Adobe Flash is simple and easy-to-use software. It is very familiar and compatible with other Adobe software, making it easier to use."
"With the alliance with Microsoft, the product is perfectly integrated."
"The Azure integration with Microsoft Visual Studio is perfect and wonderful."
"The most valuable feature is that it is a complete package, with an IDE and everything that you need for software development."
"My advice to others looking into using Microsoft Visual Studio is that if you're running a .NET project, it's the best IDE we've found so far, and it's a solid, stable product."
"The most valuable features are the extensions."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Visual Studio are the way we are able to design code, deploy, and test our application. It is easy to move an artifact from the start to the deployment stage. It has well-defined processes that you can integrate with any team. Additionally, the solution is always improving."
"The versatility and platform coverage of Microsoft Visual Studio make it a standard and stable product across Linux, Windows, and Mac, providing countless features, being lightweight, and offering extensive extensions coverage as a one-stop shop no matter the platform or language I use."
"Visual Studio makes it easier to compile the code and shows me the errors upfront when coding. For example, it will tell me when a reference is incorrect or if there's a mistake within the function calls. I like how it highlights with a red underline so that I know there's an error at that point."
"The product integrates well with Azure Cloud, and it supports a ton of languages."

Cons

"It would be nice to have more integration and faster integration."
"Adobe can focus on the gaming side mode."
"It would be nice to see Adobe Flash as a separate application instead of embedding it with other apps. I want the product to be a simple app. The product’s scalability is also one of its weak points."
"At times it can be slow, but other than that it is a great and helpful product."
"It would be ideal if there was more research on the product available."
"When Microsoft shifted their service to regions like China and India, the support team there was not professional and lacked adequate knowledge."
"The hot reload feature is good, but sometimes it doesn't work. It could be improved."
"The interface could be more user friendly."
"Its setup process could be more straightforward."
"The migration could improve in Microsoft Visual Studio. When I upgraded from 2017 and up to 2022 it was not smooth. There was a lot of manual hand-picking. Microsoft should put a higher budget for the database developers' section in Visual Studio."
"In the next version I would like to see a better development tool."
"Sometimes crashes happen and occasionally there might be hanging issues."
"It is simple to use for most developers and nearly impossible to use for non-developers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool’s pricing is fair."
"The price is okay so far."
"We purchased an expensive enterprise version of Microsoft Visual Studio."
"You may have to purchase more hardware utilities like processors or RAM."
"Its price could be better."
"The price of Microsoft Visual Studio is reasonable but could be better."
"Microsoft Visual Studio is a free product."
"The solution is expensive."
"The price is good."
"We use the free version, and you don't need a license."
