Quick development enables seamless data processing despite occasional support issues
There were times when the product would fail during development without an apparent reason. The support structure changed; initially, we received great support, however, it later became less reliable due to licensing issues and a tiered support system. Licensing negotiations were problematic, affecting our product usage. For instance, our licenses were temporarily lost during negotiations when an agreement couldn't be reached.

Good forecasting, reporting, and data integrity, but it needs to be more user-friendly
The dashboard could be made easier to use. I think that SAS BA represents an evolution of the product in this regard. I think that this solution should be more compatible with other software, including open-source solutions. If SAS were more flexible in terms of licensing then that would be good, because it costs more than other solutions. I would like to see more flexibility in the interface so that a person at the managerial level can also make use of it in a basic way.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is a drag-and-drop tool which is easy-to-use and yet can be customized by creating your own components."
"Shortens the time required to start analyzing data and looking for insights, minimizing the tasks that do not add value to the business and maximizing the analysis phase."
"The product is very stable and super fast, five-star. It's significantly more stable than it's nearest competitor."
"The value add of Alteryx is the agility for making changes, and speed of deployment."
"Automation is the most valuable aspect for us. The ability to wrap business logic around the data is very helpful."
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx is its stand-alone version that we do not have to download dependencies for loads. Additionally, the scan is useful for beginners."
"Technical support is very helpful."
"The support is very good."
"The most valuable features are forecasting and reporting."
"The most valuable feature is its flexibility and the ability to integrate with SAS."

Cons

"There are a few hiccups with specific data sets and languages or formats that the data comes in. That may be a minor problem, but we can work through it. We had some issues looking at XML format in added data, but it wasn't significant."
"We can't browse multiple files. When we deploy a solution on a gallery, let's say I have ten different files, and I have to upload them all at once. This is something that's difficult in the gallery. So case by case, I see some downsides, but often we do something alternative."
"Alteryx can improve the model management and deployment processing of large workloads."
"The solution can be quite complex in some aspects."
"When a process completes there is a notification, but the notification does not include the process's name."
"The only area where the product lags is documentation and videos on the analytical app and the batch macro."
"More statistics tools: We can use to compare SPSS statistics with some automated advisory."
"In the database, it should be more functional and connect to more big data, especially using IPI."
"Technical support could be improved because they take too long to answer our queries."
"I think that this solution should be more compatible with other software, including open-source solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the tool's price as a one. The tool is expensive."
"I rate the tool's pricing a two out of ten."
"I rate the solution's pricing as a ten, as it is highly priced."
"It has a good price."
"Very transparent."
"Its price should be lower. The key thing that we see is that talking about ROI is an important element at the time of purchase. Cost becomes a factor in every discussion. Justifying the ROI for these kinds of workflows is always a challenge, and the only way to counter the challenge is by addressing the pricing."
"The license price of the solution is expensive."
"The price could be better."
"If SAS were more flexible in terms of licensing then that would be good, because it costs more than other solutions."
