Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Drag-and-drop functionality makes the interface easy to use, but the technical support needs to be improved
There are not many people deploying models using this solution, which is a problem. I have done some cross-development and have found that when I am building models with the open-source software, the accuracy is better. For categorical data, the models built by SAS Emailer are very complex compared to those built by the open-source version. Technical support could be improved because they take too long to answer our queries. Models that are created are a block box, and you can't see the details.

Pros

"SAP Business Data Cloud helps the company by providing a space where we can trust all our data to SAP, and leadership can make decisions faster with less effort."
"I would recommend this solution for companies that are SAP dependent with users working in this environment."
"In the data warehouse, you're free to make changes. You can make everything text, meaning it's always a string. Even numbers appear as text, giving you the flexibility to work with all columns."
"The product is stable, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"We have definitely seen a return on investment, as we save money and time by consolidating software licenses into one subscription, which is far easier to manage."
"The stories have really been helpful in looking at specific scenarios and analyzing trends over periods of time."
"Using these connectors has significantly impacted our workflow and data integration with third-party tools."
"The visualization feature is the most valuable. SAP Analytics Cloud is also very easy to use."
"The most valuable features are forecasting and reporting."
"The most valuable feature is its flexibility and the ability to integrate with SAS."

Cons

"In terms of what could be improved, I would say their positioning. Effectively there are too many parts from SAP in the planning and consolidation space."
"It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs."
"Improvement could be made in the pricing of the product which is very expensive, more than Oracle and Power BI and similar solutions."
"On the pricing point, I would say it is quite high compared to other solutions that are available in the market."
"Its integration or connectivity with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, et cetera, can be improved. This is where SAP has limited features as compared to other solutions."
"SAP Analytics cloud needs better exporting options."
"When it comes to planning there is a concern about the ability to match the exact requirements of the customer with what the product offers."
"The customizations need to be better."
"If SAS were more flexible in terms of licensing then that would be good, because it costs more than other solutions."
