Data projects have grown rapidly and support complex analytics and quick dashboard delivery
Some things that could be improved in Oracle Analytics Cloud is definitely the way it works. In some cases, for example, if you want to create analytic functions such as the percentage of a measure over another, which is a straightforward question you might ask, it appears simple to do, but the result is not what you expect. I would make it more user-friendly in terms of creating new measures. The measure creation feature could be improved. In terms of functionality, there are not many functions that are completely missing. There is one aspect that if you compare it with Power BI from Microsoft, which works completely in memory and therefore puts everything in memory to allow many calculations on the fly on what is in memory, that is missing, but it is architecturally different and would not be possible to ask for something like that. Some time features and time series analysis functions could be improved. Calculating a year ago and previous period functions could definitely work with some improvement.

Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Analytics Cloud allows you to merge various data types and structure data from multiple sources."
"The most valuable features of the solution are dashboarding and data visualization."
"The dashboards, analytics, visualizations, and different reports are valuable for business analytics."
"The specific capability I find important in Oracle Analytics Cloud is that it allows the basic user to easily drag and drop data. I also like that the solution allows the user to decide what to measure and what to see in the reports."
"It has the best feature for data augmentation."
"The stability of the product itself by virtue of the fact that it's a cloud product and Oracle is responsible for its hosting is valuable."
"Oracle Analytics DV is amazing as it's giving the power to the users without involving IT."
"Mobility is the most valuable feature for us, as all employees can access it from anywhere, which is a big advantage for us."
"We use it for all our reporting right now, everything is happening in SAP, and all dashboards are there, and all data comes through in real-time."
"The stability is quite good; it doesn't crash or freeze, there are no bugs or glitches, and it's reliable."
"I don't find any negative aspects of SAP Business Data Cloud, to be very honest."
"The best features SAP Business Data Cloud offers is basically one solution for all analytics and planning applications, and the integration of all the third-party as well as SAP data sources in one platform allows us to deliver machine learning, analytics, and planning, making the decision-making process very easy with one platform."
"SAP is very scalable."
"The integration aspects between SAP and SAP Business Data Cloud are pretty good and seamless, with multiple ways to take the data that all work seamlessly, and taking data out to Azure Data Lake using premium outbound as a service and replication flows in Data Sphere is really seamless."
"As a partner, I believe the biggest advantage in the product is that SAP context is maintained."
"Technical support is helpful."

Cons

"The product should be improved in terms of connectors; right now the top twenty connectors are available, but OneDrive and Teradata are missing."
"Its machine learning and visualization capabilities can be improved. There should be more visualization options."
"The learning curve should be improved, and I'm uncertain if tutorials are readily available or easily accessible. We may have resorted to looking on YouTube for such information. Having easily understandable documents or guides for new users would be beneficial. AI integration would be an interesting feature to add in the next release."
"The pricing model in Microsoft is more straightforward. With Oracle, you have the data visualization and enterprise lines, and to put it simply, both appear as more expensive options for customers trying to get oriented in the segment."
"When you want to scale up and improve the computing power, it becomes extremely costly."
"This product does not support custom charts in the visualization."
"One area of improvement is associated with more connectors needing to be added such as Microsoft OneDrive, Teradata and a few others. I think the list is limited to the top ones now."
"This solution could be more adaptable in its application."
"The security, authorization, and live connection to the back-office system features can be improved. A business analyst colleague who creates complex financial management reports has mentioned that he wants to see more fact and visualization features. It would be helpful to have more visualization features to be able to prepare more stories or reports for executives. For example, Tableau has some visualization features that are not present in this solution."
"Pricing and support are integrated into the system. However, the support process can be challenging, particularly when navigating the SAP support site, which lacks user-friendliness and ease of access."
"SAP could add more templates to the platform."
"The analytics part of SAP has not been that good up until now. They're still in the infant stage and development is still going on. SAP has some cloud analytics and they're trying to configure it in Lumira, but it's not that good at this point."
"For improvement, I would like to see more customizable dashboards, better reporting flexibility, and additional automation for data management tasks in SAP Business Data Cloud."
"It is very expensive."
"SAP Business Data Cloud is a new tool, and we need much more time to use its full capability and understand the advantages and disadvantages."
"Statistical analysis should be a bit more profound than it is."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Bottom line, the cost is really, really cheap compared to other solutions. Oracle has made a huge effort on the pricing."
"A highly cost-effective solution"
"I don't know the exact cost, but its pricing was good. Its pricing was competitive. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"It is an expensive platform."
"Oracle Analytics Cloud's pricing is generally higher than that of other vendors."
"The price is reasonable; it's quite a bit lower than Tableau and Spotfire."
"I rate the product's pricing a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"I would rate it a five out of five in terms of the value received for the price charge."
"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money."
"It Wasn't directly involved in the pricing discussions, but when I joined the organization, they had already purchased the SAP Analytics Cloud solution. The organization faced challenges due to its perceived expense, leading to restrictions on granting access to many users."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"It is a bit expensive, but really worth it, especially if you are already using other SAP tools."
"Its pricing is okay as compared to its competitors."
"The pricing is based on an annual license and is rated a four out of ten."
"The product is expensive."
