Good filtering and reporting tools but can be difficult to use
It can scale as needed. It's not a problem. There are different teams using it. We have CSOC, which is internal, which is onshore, then we have a security operations center that is offshore, which would be in India. The onshore team might be a group of three, and the offshore might be a group of five. Likely, we have eight to ten people in total using the product directly.

Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is easy to implement."
"Allows multiple integrations with multiple systems in a stable and flexible fashion."
"We have seen a measurable decrease in the mean time to detect and respond to threats."
"The two most valuable features of this solution are its stability and scalability."
"Investigating an incident has become super easy and helpful."
"I like their filtering and their reporting tools, I like their integration with many other different tool sets, which is similar to other products as well, the solution is easy to implement, and I have found the product to be quite stable and scalable."
"Less resource consumption in terms of memory and processing."
"The features I have found most valuable are its capabilities for behavioral analytics and anomaly detection."
"From my experience, the features are best for monitoring and the usage of LDAP and SSH."
"I have found the most useful feature of One Identity Safeguard to be Privileged Sessions."
"All sessions are audited and they are indexed/searchable through the GUI."
"One Identity Safeguard has had a very positive impact on our organization, especially in terms of security, efficiency, and visibility."
"Now that we're able to audit log and record what is being done, we can play back all the sessions to make sure no type of unattended usage of the privilege or elevated credentials were being used, and from securing the bank standpoint, it has helped tremendously."
"We use the solution’s “transparent mode” feature for privileged sessions; it is very easy because it is only a simple configuration for our users, we don't have to modify our network, we install it, configure it, and it works, so it is super easy, and the rollout for our users is seamless."
"It's one of the best products we've seen. When you start looking at the functionality and use cases and usability of the product, it's straightforward. They designed this product with the end-user in mind, and they also had the sysadmin who is supporting the product in mind. They really did a nice job. Overall, it's a nice product to work with."
"The transparent mode for privileged sessions is one of the best things for customers, because they don't see the system in-between."

Cons

"I would like to see orchestration."
"Customer service has not been up to the mark. They take longer than they should to resolve issues."
"The ArcSight Analytic is not so easy."
"[There is] complexity in maintaining it and managing it. It's not easy to use. It requires a lot of training."
"The customer service could be improved, and additional integrations with other APIs could be added."
"This is not a solution that I would recommend."
"The interactive dashboard is more complicated comparing to his concurrent Qradar and you need to have training in order to do complexe configuration, so I think that it could be made easier to use."
"I would like to see integration with automation products, such as Phantom Automation."
"One Identity Safeguard is a strong PAM solution, but there are some areas for improvement."
"Even though we have two nodes, there's no way to do an upgrade without taking everything completely offline. It would be nice if they could improve that."
"The automated change of the passwords, which is now integrated, could be improved to be more flexible regarding different systems."
"The only part of the Safeguard solution that I think could be a problem over time is the amount of storage it takes in the sessions."
"While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability."
"The customer support for One Identity Safeguard was not very good and definitely needs to be improved."
"The high availability function of the box itself requires a long time to switch over from one appliance to another, so there is room for improvement."
"Now, I think the best way to improve it will be to optimize the software, because the software begins to consume more resources (physical)."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"My customers pay a yearly licensing fee for ArcSight Analytics."
"ArcSight Analytics is a bit expensive compared with other tools in terms of licensing costs, training, hardware implementation, and support."
"The monthly licensing fee is around $20,000. There aren't any costs in addition to the standard licensing fee."
"This solution is expensive."
"In addition to the costs of standard licensing fees, there is the cost of labor for maintenance."
"It can range between $30,000 and $40,000 USD, and can go up to $500,000 and $600,000 USD."
"They have comparable pricing. All identity products are essentially priced in a similar way. It's a per-user base."
"We bought their other products, so it was not that expensive. It is one of those where the more you buy, the cheaper it is."
"It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. You don't want to get anything too cheap because then you get cheap stuff and cheap support. That really never helps anybody."
"The license is very expensive for us, partly due to inflation and partly because of the exchange rate between the Dollar and the Iranian Rial. We purchased a perpetual license that we've been using up until now, but I believe that we are not going to update it in the future. Instead, we plan to find another third-party to support us with the license, in the sense that we would have access to their license as a shared agreement."
"The license is around $3,000 per month."
"Setup cost, pricing and licensing are all very expensive."
"We have a yearly license. The cost depends on how much a company wants to invest in technology. In our organization, we believe in modern digitization and automation processes so we found it affordable. One Identity was not that much less than other solutions and it is not a cheap solution. There were number of cheaper solutions. However, it's the most effective, according to our evaluation."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
