Has supported mid-market deployments with cloud-based centralized management and reliable wireless performance
I faced challenges earlier with a limitation of 50 APs in single sites, but that has enhanced to 100 numbers, eliminating that challenge for Aruba Instant On team. Additionally, some features are not listed in the cloud management platform and still require offline access, so enhancing the cloud management features would be better for us.

Affordable platform with efficient analytics features
Huawei adapters have facilitated seamless integration with mobile devices, extending the LAN's reach. Additionally, including CampusInsight, a component offering analytics and visibility into wireless connectivity, has proven invaluable. This feature enables us to monitor network health and troubleshoot user-related issues efficiently. The reliability has had a positive impact on our operations. I advise others to go for Cisco if cost is not a factor. Otherwise, they can explore other options based on the availability of that OEM within the country. We have Huawei present in our country and provide all the necessary support, so we went forward with them. I rate it a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The deployment guides that we get from Aruba are excellent."
"Has many advanced features: Built-in firewall, local radius, application visibility and control, not locked into support agreements."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Captive Portal, which we employ for our guest network. It enables us to create a separate virtual subnet for guests, ensuring their network traffic remains isolated from our office network. Another valuable feature is its role-based access control. This functionality allows us to assign different access privileges to users based on their roles within the organization."
"The most valuable feature of Aruba Instant On is that it is cloud-managed, making it easy to manage multiple locations in a single dashboard, especially on cloud, and it can even be managed by a mobile app, which is the best feature for mid-market customers who don't have much expertise or manpower resource."
"The most valuable feature of Aruba Instant is security."
"It's a good solution for small businesses because it's easy to figure out. It's simple to set Aruba up in any configuration, like link aggregation or static loads. It's suitable for less complicated configurations, whereas Cisco devices are bigger and more difficult to implement."
"You don't have to deal with licenses."
"I like the Instant On switches and the AP22"
"When opening the radio, we manage the frequency to handle overlapping effectively."
"The solution is easily managed compared to other wireless solutions."
"Installation is easy."
"The solution is easy to set up."
"From an implementation perspective, it's easy. I rate it a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup, and ten is an easy setup."
"The most valuable features of Huawei Wireless are WiFi coverage and ease of use."
"It can scale."
"The best feature of Huawei Wireless is the quick and fast setup."

Cons

"The network planner could be improved. You should be able to import a floor plan, and the application should suggest the optimal placement of your devices."
"We have faced delay in customer support which has affected our business performance. So the customer support needs to be prompt in their responses."
"If you need to access the master access point the integration between the two becomes quite expensive."
"An important missing feature is the console port, which allows direct management without the cloud."
"This solution would be improved if they supplied free software controllers."
"The Central cloud management (optional) is far behind the competition in features, ease of use, and dependability. I have tried Aruba Central a few times over the years and, in my option, it is not where it needs to be for serious consideration in production environments."
"The product's high cost is an area where improvements are required."
"The security features must be improved."
"The solution could be easier to use."
"The solution's integration with some AAA servers like Aruba ClearPass is difficult and could be improved."
"Support could be a bit faster."
"I'd like to see some after-sales support. It's a little bit below the expectations we had."
"Huawei Wireless can improve the signal, sometimes it becomes weak."
"Given that Wi-Fi 7 is a new protocol, compatibility with other devices like phones and computers that lack this technology could be enhanced."
"The solution should offer more integration with third-party servers and devices."
"Improving the visibility, control offered, and cloud management would all be very helpful. Also how you can monetize the information you get from Wi-Fi controllers should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Aruba Instant is affordable."
"There’s no licensing required to use the tool."
"I rate the product’s pricing a two out of ten."
"We only pay for the support and the contract licenses from Aruba Instant."
"Aruba Instant is a free subscription with a limited lifetime warranty."
"The customers do not have to pay for licensing."
"The setup cost varies based on each organization's requirements but it is within reason."
"I would rate pricing six out of ten."
"We don't have any control on the pricing. This comes from Huawei in India. Pricing-wise, Huawei is very aggressive and competitive if you compare them to competitors, like Cisco, Aruba, and Ruckus. The Indian Huawei team tells us, "Just pick up the order and design the infrastructure. If there are any pricing challenge, we'll work on that and we will try to match things 100 percent.""
"Its price is reasonable."
"Extras come with a surcharge."
"The price of Huawei Wireless is very good."
"I would rate the tool's pricing a seven out of ten."
"Huawei Wireless is one of the cheapest options in the marketplace."
"The platform is less costly than one of its competitors. I rate the pricing a three out of ten."
"Its price is very good. This wireless system totally costs about 30,000 euros, and some of the other solutions cost about 45,000 euros. It is a difference of 15,000 euros, which is quite a lot of money."
