Stable hotel networking enhances return on investment with valuable modular features
There are issues with the distribution side of Aruba Switches. For instance, the distributor in our country cannot sell to neighboring countries, creating complications in project execution. Improving the distribution network across regions would be beneficial. Also, the SFP modules are significantly more expensive than industry peers, which affects cost-effectiveness.

Cost-effective protocol support and a straightforward setup with room for login enhancements
In the network operations center, I manage our client's bandwidth. We connect with our clients through BGP and OSPF based on client demands. We also manage routing protocols, policies, internal firewalls, and other details like QE bandwidth, client manage bandwidth management, PoE, PPPoE, and DNS…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have found that the command line interface is very useful and very similar to Cisco devices."
"In the hotel sector, IGMP 3 is particularly valuable for IPTV."
"The solution's most valuable aspect is its monitoring capabilities."
"The solution has great open architecture."
"It's stable."
"The features I find most valuable in Aruba Switches are their flexibility, reliability, and affordability."
"The most valuable features of Aruba Switches are the use of use and user-friendliness."
"This solution is really easy to use. It is much easier to use than Cisco. It's got a nice web interface for stepping up and an added warranty."
"The routing is nice and straightforward."
"The cost and versatility are the solution's most valuable features. You can do anything with them if you know how to. The solution has a whole portfolio of routing features available."
"I like MikroTik's GUI. It's completely handy and easy to handle because of its GUI. Despite other brands like Cisco urging me to switch, I didn't because they don't have a GUI. This is the most comfortable thing in my project that anyone can use easily. It's effortless to maintain MikroTik routers because both screens make it very easy in GUI mode. You can easily interact with your hardware."
"The deployment process of MikroTik routers and switches is very convenient since it is not command-driven and comes with a graphical user interface, making it much easier to operate."
"We have use cases like providing power over ethernet, as an access controller for Wi-Fi, and normal networking."
"What I like best about MikroTik Routers and Switches is its easy handling. The product also has a significantly good interface."
"They use wireless and wired connections that include all of the features."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is the combination of value for money. They're extremely cost effective, yet they provide you with an extensive feature set of things you can do across the board. Also, they're pretty reliable, as far as equipment goes."

Cons

"I have some security issues with Aruba Switches. I need to update the firmware and then the problems might go away."
"There is an issue with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), but it is escaping me. We aren't using this feature yet, but it is something we are considering."
"We've had issues with availability."
"The interface could be more user-friendly and the dashboard could be improved."
"From an improvement perspective, I want Aruba Switches to have a longer life since it doesn't work properly after five years of use."
"The log viewer should be improved."
"There are some growing pains with Aruba Central. When you first launch the wireless access points or switches, a lot of updates are needed to get Aruba Central ready, especially on the access points, so the initial deployment time could improve. I would hope that I could just turn it on and leave the updates until later on. The switches themselves probably did okay. I'm primarily referring to the wireless access points. There was a lot of back and forth before everything was in sync. It took hours."
"The solution must improve the switch models."
"As far as improvements, there are basically only two things I would suggest. First, I think they should provide extensive training for the new releases of products, especially in the LTE space. Second, they could spend more time ensuring that their OS releases are more stable, rather than waiting for things to fall apart on the customer's premises before they make the necessary changes."
"MikroTik does not have a wireless solution. If they created a high-performance wireless solution we would deploy it in our infrastructure."
"Better security is always better. If they can continue to improve in this area, that would be ideal."
"The initial setup could be easier."
"There needs to be better support for this solution in India. We have no local support."
"There is an area of improvement. The firewall features are self-contained, but features like email scanning and voice control should be improved. This is the best routing product."
"The queuing functionality needs improvement. The initial setup could be simplified."
"The updates as well as the patches could be improved. I believe it would be beneficial to automate the process of router patching to avoid the need for manual checks. With automated patching, as long as the router is connected to the internet, it can automatically perform necessary updates. Failing to patch the router can leave me vulnerable to potential security threats."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a little bit expensive. It can be cheaper."
"The cost depends on the requirement. An extensive network will expand the budget. The price will be lower if there is a small requirement of one to ten switches. In comparison, Aruba is less costly than Cisco by about 10-20%."
"The tool is a little expensive for customers from other countries."
"There is a license to use the solution."
"Pricing for this product is reasonable."
"Cisco has a higher cost than Aruba Switches."
"Comparing with Cisco, and some other solutions, it's a cheap product."
"It is expensive compared to the competition."
"In terms of the economic side, we're completely satisfied. The price is affordable for both SMEs and enterprises."
"There is a lifetime subscription already embedded when you buy the product."
"This product is a one-time purchase."
"The price-performance is great."
"There is a one-time license fee for the use of this solution and it is less expensive than Cisco products."
"The main reason we use this solution is for the price — it's very cheap."
"The product is cheap compared to Cisco."
"This product is cheaper than competing products by other vendors."
