Boosts deployment efficiency with seamless automatic scaling capabilities
My primary use case for Auto Scaling is mainly to deploy applications at scale Auto Scaling has made the deployment of applications more efficient, allowing us to manage traffic and maintain performance as user counts increase. Auto Scaling is a cool feature that works well and its automatic…

It speeds up incident response by automating alerts and ticket creation
When configuring a dashboard, we can write search criteria. Based on the search criteria, the dashboard shows all the alerts, including the alert time, creation time, and a summary description of the alert. When you add an extra column, such as the user that triggered the alert, the next time he refreshes the dashboard, he wants to know that the alert is acknowledged. We want to improve that comment feature. In the Service Analyzer, we monitor the network infrastructure services and have a KPI for each service. When the value exceeds the threshold value, we can add the colors. For example, we can set it to green when the threshold value is within the limit. If it is red, then the value has passed the threshold. We want more colors in the service analyzer to display all these features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution helps optimize the cost of the AWS environment."
"The product provides self-healing features."
"It can scale."
"It efficiently handles traffic, ensuring we are not running expenses and the infrastructure is strong enough to handle the load."
"I would highly recommend Auto Scaling to others because it is a fantastic feature that simplifies scaling processes and makes deployment efficient."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to select a minimum amount of active servers so that a new server automatically launches if one fails."
"The tool's most valuable feature is vertical auto-scaling, which is easy to use. However, most companies now prefer horizontal scaling. I set up the health check integration to monitor CPU usage. When it reaches seventy percent, it sends me an email notification."
"The various scaling options available, such as step scaling, are particularly useful."
"It's scalable and expands well."
"The most valuable features are the agility, being able to ingest many data sources with no limitation on capacity."
"The glass tables are very helpful."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the aggregation of the metrics and the relative ease of getting them away from search."
"The service analyzer view and automatic creation of incidents are valuable."
"We have a lot of teams using Splunk and they would be blind without it."
"The search function is the most valuable. It includes regular expressions and wild card searches. We'll write searches using field and case-sensitive services and use all of these search types to write an alert condition. Splunk ITSI has another feature called Glass Table that offers a visual representation."
"In my opinion, Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) is better than QRadar. With the help of Splunk, we can get results."

Cons

"The tool's stability could be improved."
"The only area of improvement is the speed at which servers are launched. When cleaning up to six servers at a time, it can take up to 15 to 20 minutes to launch new servers."
"It could be cheaper."
"AWS Auto Scaling's documentation could be better."
"The product could add more features for managing instances."
"We can have more auto scaling algorithms implemented in AWS Auto Scaling."
"In comparison to other public clouds, the product is costly."
"The speed of the solution must be improved."
"We also faced challenges relating to UI development."
"The problem becomes the price, as Splunk is an expensive product."
"The UI could be updated. Some elements of the KPI section aren't where you'd expect. It looks like a website from 2010 or maybe older. You can't change some things, like if it doesn't word-wrap well. For example, if you have a long list of KPIs that exceed a character limit, you need to hover over them and wait for the HTML text to pop up to see which KPI it is."
"Splunk ITSI could benefit from including more features that other solutions support, such as vulnerability management modules."
"We're using predictive analytics, and there are three or four algorithms. It would be helpful if this process were more standardized and scalable."
"We experience occasional delays in receiving solutions from Splunk technical support. Splunk's support for P3 cases seems inadequate, as they frequently switch support personnel. For instance, in a single P3 case, we had three different technical support representatives assigned. We were ultimately forced to escalate the issue to our account manager to get it resolved. In essence, we never receive complete support from a single point of contact; instead, the support team keeps changing, necessitating us to explain the problem from scratch each time."
"ITSI is an almost perfect tool, but there is room for improvement in a few features like the deep dive and multi-KPI alerts. We're using most of the features like service API, coding searches, and aggregation, but our team members hardly use multi-KPI and deep dive. We don't use the multi-KPI or deep dive because everything is available in the service KPI. I don't think this feature is necessary."
"It would be good if an interface was included in the next release."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"AWS Auto Scaling's price is high."
"AWS Auto Scaling is a pay-per-use and pay-as-you-use service."
"The pricing is good. I have not had any customers that have complained about the price."
"AWS Auto Scaling is an expensive solution."
"AWS Auto Scaling is a cheap solution."
"The product is expensive."
"The product has moderate pricing."
"Splunk ITSI is expensive compared to other tools."
"Splunk ITSI is a premium application and comes with a premium price tag."
"It would have been good if the product cost was much lower."
"Splunk ITSI is expensive."
"I would prefer that the price be reduced, as it would be easier to implement it and to sell it."
"I wouldn't say there's been an issue with the solution's pricing because we went through the AWS marketplace and negotiated directly with Splunk."
"Pricing has some room for improvement."
"It is interesting. I am not involved that much lately, but if I recall correctly, you license primarily on the volume of data that you are using in Splunk ITSI, but there is no way Splunk can ever check if that is true, so that is interesting. We are not doing it, but someone can pretend to just use 10%, and it would be super cheap. It is tricky, but it is more tricky for Splunk than for us."
