We are going to re-implement the Oracle Hyperion system due to changes in our chart of account process and some other factors. We were analyzing whether to move to a cloud system, EPM Cloud. We have already proceeded with our Oracle Hyperion re-implementation with the vendor, and it is in the approval process. All options have been evaluated. We have made comparisons between EPM Cloud and Oracle Hyperion. Oracle Hyperion is not too user-friendly. EPM Cloud has more support towards functional users who can generate reports according to their own needs. There are specific reasons why we have not moved to the cloud, such as our various processes including reconciliations. We do not prefer customization in Oracle Hyperion, but due to business needs, there may be a few minimal customizations made. The forms are a bit complex for functional users. To create and open forms is not simple. We need trained personnel, and training is essential to use it efficiently.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Not only has it halved the time it takes to build the annual budget, but the result targets and outputs are much more accurate."
"My primary use case of this solution is as a full EPM shop, with HFM, planning and FDMEE reports, as well as all the features available under the EPM umbrella."
"Oracle Hyperion has helped make things work faster in our company."
"Scalability is one of this solution's big plus points."
"This solution provides a more structured methodology for doing analysis than a tool like Excel, creating a central database that keeps all information in one place and allowing 200 spreadsheets to be replaced by one multidimensional repository."
"Scalability isn't a problem for Hyperion."
"If the group is large enough, then I would recommend going ahead with this solution because it's a very good tool for reporting and consolidation."
"We can do budgeting on time and provide an accurate forecast."
"This product has been helping the organization to implement complex budgeting models."

Cons

"There is a steeper learning curve for power users, but Axiom provides outstanding support and training resources."
"From a technical perspective, the technical support could be improved and the price could be reduced."
"This solution's stability is a little problematic."
"Oracle Hyperion's scalability could be improved."
"I don't think that this product needs any improvement for now."
"It's not scalable. It's not scalable. We are moving away from it, with the ERP cloud migration, we will retire this product."
"We have missed deadlines because of that and I had to create some workarounds from my side."
"In my opinion, the reporting features could be visually better, and prettier, than it is so far."
"Oracle should have provided better documentation, and should update it more often."

Pricing and Cost Advice
