Inexpensive, easy to configure, good support, and it is easy to scale up when needed
The most valuable feature is the interface, which is very nice to work with. Whether you're working on the appliance itself, or you're working on the cloud, it is basically the same interface. It got to the point where when we needed to recover a file, we didn't look at the backup solution anymore. Instead, we went right to the Datto Backupify. Using Backupify took our time to recover from probably four days to 20 minutes. With this device, you're capable of logging into the interface or through an IP address to access the data that is stored on it. Recovery can be just a matter of spinning up a virtual machine or doing a full bare metal recovery, replacing the entire hardware-based server.

Backup and recovery options integrate smoothly while affordability remains a challenge
My relationship with Veeam is that I am a reseller and system integrator. The support for both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 impacts my data protection strategy because that's the reason we are using Veeam. Veeam is a platform that supports both on-prem and cloud. It's a single pane of glass that we can support both, which is one of the good reasons we are using Veeam. The key benefits my organization has experienced with Veeam's integration of SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Teams within its data protection framework are that single licensing is one of the things customers prefer to use because it's very easy for them to manage. I would rate Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 overall an eight on a scale from 1 to 10.

Pros

"The most valuable features are the ease of use and the fact that users themselves can self-provision and recover."
"The most valuable feature is the interface, which is very nice to work with."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the WAN accelerator. This feature allows for large amounts of data from one location to another. If the bandwidth in the environment is slow it makes the transfer slow but the WAN accelerator feature helps speed the transfer."
"The most critical feature of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is its ability to back up and protect data on cloud services."
"It works well for our backup needs, and I would recommend it for Microsoft 365 due to its reliability."
"It is a stable solution."
"I believe the solution is very scalable. We can continuously add mailboxes and sites."
"Veaam technical support, from my perspective, is one of the best technical support I've ever engaged with."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable feature is the integration with our Teams environment."

Cons

"The device does not allow you to do multiple backups over the whole environment."
"Not a ten because there's always room for improvement."
"We tried to use Veeam for our DRP. It was complicated to use and did not help us with our DRP needs due to our internet connectivity at that time."
"While I don't have a use case in mind, it would be great if they could integrate more automation capabilities into the solution."
"The solution should have backup integration features, not just concerning mail but also when it comes to such solutions as SharePoint."
"Microsoft currently saves only two months of conversation history, and it would be better if Veeam could focus on backing up more than two months of conversation data."
"It's a new product. It's not mature."
"If Veeam could offer backup as a service for data backup and recovery, that would be great. We'd like something like what Druva is offering at the moment."
"Veeam is quite expensive."
"As with all things, the solution can be improved by reducing the cost."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The costs were about $1,000 USD to buy the unit in the first place, and then between $250 and $300 per year for support."
"From our perspective in South Africa, our biggest challenge is the exchange rate from the South African currency to the US dollar. This makes it a bit pricey for us. However, compared to other backup solutions available, I would rate the pricing at a nine out of ten. For the servers, features, and functionality you get, it's worth the money. Of course, we'd always prefer things to be cheaper, but we also understand that you have to pay for proper functionality. So overall, it's not badly priced at all."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"It is an expensive product, and there is an additional cost involved in purchasing hardware. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"The cost of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is $19 for one mailbox."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
