Backup has become straightforward for our clients but deployment insights are still limited
Azure is quite a broad topic, so it is really difficult to give a straightforward answer to that question. Easy deployment for easy configurations is straightforward, but you can make it as difficult and complex as you can within Azure. It also depends on the actual environment. In most cases that we are involved in, it is between two and five people.I am overall satisfied with the pricing and licensing policy of AvePoint, as pricing compared to other products is competitive. I would rate this review as a seven.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I rate the overall solution a 9 out of 10."
"Overall, this is a good product and I can recommend it to others."
"The product's initial setup phase was super easy."
"The most valuable features are the email backup and the SharePoint backup."
"For me personally, the best feature in AvePoint Cloud Backup is mostly its ease of use."
"It is the only product in the market that offers platform backup."
"The initial setup is super easy."
"It is the best product in the market for Office 365 backup, and our customers are satisfied with it."
"I appreciate the feature of having a single tool for backup, replication, and secondary backup; with the same tool, the same job can be extended and configured to meet compliance requirements as per customer needs."
"The solution does good backups."
"The setup is very simple. It takes 15 minutes."
"We have seen an ROI, we have been saved from incidents by this solution many times, we've avoided corruption of data, and we are not losing time thinking about how data could be protected."
"It's user-friendly, especially for taking incremental backups."
"We have backups for Microsoft 365 because it is in the account of the complete tenant compromise. If we lose access to a tenant or all of the client's data gets Microsoft 365, and they lose access to all of their emails, OneDrive, and Teams data, then at least we have an off-site copy that is not linked to their Microsoft side of things."
"It is very simple to set up."
"The solution helps reduce our workload."

Cons

"For improvement, AvePoint can provide details on how the tool's backup scope works."
"AvePoint Cloud Backup's pricing could be lower and more flexible. Particularly, when dealing with smaller customers or more minor businesses, obtaining competitive pricing for bundles rather than on a one-by-one basis remains challenging."
"Some customers choose other backup solutions because AvePoint is Office 365 and CRM backup system, but they have other backup needs for Azure and so on. Such customers often choose another backup solution instead of AvePoint."
"It is challenging for small or medium-sized businesses to purchase it."
"The restoration could be faster."
"The configuration could be made easier."
"The component in the product that can be improved revolves around the area where the tool should focus on providing more of a custom touch to the policies."
"It is not a traditional restore process and it is somewhat limited in what we can do."
"This solution would be improved if our customers could simplify their graphic user interface and for it to be more user-friendly."
"It needs to be able to integrate with other emailing systems, like Linux."
"Some additional training materials would be helpful."
"It requires quite an amount of infrastructure. You have to set up the instance, and you need to know quite a bit about Microsoft 365 authentication. For some customers, it is a challenge."
"Its price could be improved."
"When you add a new site for backup, it gives you a notice that there is a new site, but the way you select that and configure that could be slightly better. It works, but it is not always very clear. For example, for the URL, you need to hover over the title or the name of the site. You should see it immediately on the screen. It should have a better user interface for selecting what you want to back up so that you get a more clear overview of the sites that are there and the ones that you want to combine in a backup. Its user interface should be more user-friendly. It has a lot of scrolling and doesn't give you a complete overview when needed. That's the main thing why it is not very user-friendly. It should have a better user interface."
"Veeam is quite expensive."
"It would be beneficial to implement a mechanism that allows for more efficient input processing, such as recognizing the first capital letter of an email account."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would say that the pricing policy of the product is flexible and good."
"It is very good for many of my customers in the banking and finance segments. The price isn't a problem there, but in some other industries, people ask for a cheaper solution. When the price is an issue for the customer, we recommend Veeam, Metallic."
"It costs a little bit more than other competitors in the market."
"I am not sure, but I believe that the cost is $7 USD per user."
"I rate the product's price a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"The platform is more expensive than other vendors."
"The pricing part of the solution is based on a subscription model, which is based on the number of users or storage capacity."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 is a subscription-based solution."
"I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have."
"There is an annual license required and a per-user fee for this solution."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
"This is not a stand-alone product and requires a standard Veeam license for your organization in addition to the cost of the solution."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
