A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has allowed us to have a central system for handling security profiles for all users on different target systems e.g. Oracle, Unix, and Active Directory."
"They just released Marketplace, and they are constantly releasing updates to the components and adding new components, like Conjur. This is something that we ran into with Secret Server and DevOps, so it is already scalable, but becoming more so in the future."
"It is best suited for mid to large-size enterprises; it is priced well, it is the market leader, and I think that it's the best solution."
"One way it has improved the organization is we now have restricted access for all users to go through CyberArk."
"Service count rotation is probably one of my favorite features... The ability to automatically rotate any password I need to really helps with the entire enterprise strategy that we're pushing right now."
"This product is helpful for financial auditing needs, as well."
"It has helped us with our adoption with other teams, and it has also helped us to integrate it at the ground level."
"You can see the benefits of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager immediately."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to delegate access to admins when they need it, allowing us to have some kind of proof on the approval process, rather than give people standing access on a full-time basis."

Cons

"This product launches a request to add or remove accesses on different target systems but it doesn't check that the access granted was previously requested."
"The initial setup has room for improvement to be more straightforward."
"The initial setup was a bit complex."
"The solution is too complicated to use and should be simplified. It took me a long time to understand how to use it. There is a lot that the solution can improve for the future."
"The initial setup could be simpler but it may not be as effective."
"In CyberArk Privileged Access Manager, the UI has room for improvement, as does the dashboard reporting, which could be made better or easier to use."
"The interface could be improved it is not user-friendly, but they have improved but it could still improve."
"It should be easier to install. It is a comprehensive product, which makes it difficult to install. You need to have their consulting services in order to get it all installed and set up correctly because there is so much going on. It would be nice if there were an easier way to do the installation without professional services. I suspect they get a fair amount of their money from professional services. So, there is not a huge incentive."
"Sometimes they didn't always offer, for the less critical issues perhaps, a quick, easy, how-to-implement-it solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"There are additional features added to our CyberArk Privileged Access Manager license. For example, features that allow us to integrate into various kinds of platforms."
"The cost is high compared to other products."
"If you want a Ferrari, it will cost you. The solution is really nice, so it costs the client, but in the long run, it is very good. If you buy a solution that costs a lot to maintain because it is not stable, and you are frequently asking for consultant support, it costs more."
"It's expensive, certainly. But CyberArk is the leader in the market with regards to privileged access management. You pay a lot, but you are paying for the value that is being delivered."
"The solution is costly but we get what we pay for."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is more expensive than its competitors, such as BeyondTrust, Delinea, and ManageEngine PAM360."
"It's not a cheap application. It's very expensive."
"They have two types of licensing: purchase and subscription. You have to pay for each admin user, such as Microsoft admin, mail admin, database admin, etc."
