I would rate the stability a seven out of ten because other tools in the market have extra capabilities that BizFlow doesn't have yet. They have some built-in capabilities and AI features, and everyone is thinking about how to implement AI in their area. I haven't seen any updates from BizFlow on this, but they might plan to implement it soon. However, we don't have this capability right now. This could be one reason why people might move from BizFlow to another tool. For example, with Nintex, we can integrate Google Cloud and achieve some functionality from Google Cloud as well. IBM also introduced some free tests in their DPM services with AI. These are good things in the market right now.

Supports long-running asynchronous processes effectively but has not evolved much in recent years
I think Camunda is focusing too much on the SaaS offering right now and not much on improving and developing the product itself. I did not see any innovations on that aspect, especially for the open-source version. I was making some tests recently and the tool seemed pretty much the same as it was three or four years ago. Since they made the move to cloud deployment in a more SaaS-oriented way, they do not invest too much in the community version. To be honest, it did not change much from the Activiti initial version. Activiti was pretty much what Camunda is today. They invested a lot on Zeebe and made it the engine for their SaaS cloud version. Camunda itself, the embedded engine, did not evolve too much. They could invest more on that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Overall, BizFlow has provided seamless integration of Human-Centric and Integration-Centric BPM capabilities to enable efficient use of Personnel resources while automating data-driven activities via web service interactions."
"Working with BizFlow (the company) has been an equal pleasure."
"There are so many advantages. First things, like we have a seamless automation capability available here in BizFlow. Totally customizable, UI we can create, and the third-party integration is also achievable. Not with the in-built functionality, but with custom code and all, we can achieve that thing also."
"We have a lot of users, almost 1,800, and we needed something affordable, stable, and something that could be used by a large financial company, and this solution truly fit the bill."
"The ease with which I can define workflows is most valuable."
"The Camunda BPMN Platform is very flexible and gives several options to deploy and scale it."
"Based on other products, we've found the most appropriate results coming out from the Camunda BPM engine."
"We helped our customer to reduce their licensing and operational costs to a larger extent by proposing Camunda BPM to replace the existing BPM solution."
"The way to create workflows is straightforward, which is one of the major benefits of the Camunda platform."
"Camunda is a scalable product."
"The architecture is good because it's a headless workflow. I can create my own frontend, and it's fully API-based."

Cons

"I suggest BizFlow create look up functionality to add and cache reusable form data (e.g., static drop down data) as it is required in almost every software application."
"Nintex provided an in-built functionality. Like integration-related things, so many service types are available. You just have to configure it. So, such kinds of things decrease the timing of development. So, it is missing in Bizflow."
"I suggest BizFlow continue to invest in JDK 64 bit and Siteminder integration for single sign on."
"The product's initial setup phase is difficult for beginners."
"The business model could be easier to understand."
"If Camunda could develop something that creates user forms that would be a great feature to have. They also need to improve the UI."
"I have faced problems in bringing up the Cockpit in terms of GUI processes. I think that there is room for improvement in those areas."
"I would say that Camunda should actually focus on small cases as well. There's a lot of space out there, for small businesses. If they can, they should cater to them."
"I think Camunda is focusing too much on the SaaS offering right now and not much on improving and developing the product itself."
"The solution could use some enhancements like adding connectors, improving forms and having a mobile app, but everything is an enhancement rather than a flaw."
"In the future, I would definitely like to see the process administration (migration, audit, tracking) and process evaluation (optimize) features added to the community edition."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is a main concern for any organization, but some big organizations may find it affordable. For example, in Indian currency, it would be around 1,000 per license for a BizFlow license."
"I use the open-source free version."
"We use the free version."
"We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost."
"There is an open-source version available, that in its core features (workflow and decision engine, modeler) is exactly the same as in the enterprise version."
"I think Camunda BPM can improve their licensing costs. It isn't easy to find clients with Camunda BPM licenses mainly because it's quite expensive."
"The price is competitive with products like Bonitasoft and RHPAM (Red Hat Process Automation Manager). We have two versions of Camunda. The first version was open source, without support, but then we got a supported version."
"Camunda's pricing is good."
"There were some features that were only available in the paid version."
