My impressions of Camunda for orchestrating complex end-to-end business processes are very positive because we use it in quite complicated setups with a lot of business rules to combine validation and enrichment steps combined with user interaction.
Camunda offers a flexible, open-source solution based on Java, ideal for quick deployment and integration with microservices architecture. It allows for easy process definition without extensive programming and provides cost-effective benefits. Challenges include limited regional support, especially in Portuguese, less competitive pricing for small businesses, documentation issues, and scalability hurdles due to a single database. Enhancements in integration with various languages and platforms are needed.
