Reliable connectivity and robust support enhance customer experience
We are working with version 2.0, which is usually the latest one.Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is 100% reliable, as I have never faced any issues in our deployment after deployment, and the support is also very good. It takes a maximum of 15-20 minutes to configure one particular site of Cambium Networks Wireless LAN. The usual deployment process involves inspecting the hardware at our warehouse, dispatching it to the customer location, where the vendor installs the access point, and once it has internet, the configuration will be directly pushed from the cloud to the access point, making it up and running. Currently, around 100 plus of my customers are using this solution. My customers are a mix of medium and enterprise businesses. The least amount my customers usually pay is around $1,000, and the largest amount is approximately $10,000 per year. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Cambium Networks Wireless LAN a 9 overall.

An industry-leading security and wireless solution packaged in one box
We make our customers SonicWall clients. We have a solution package: If you have a contract to network with us, we will deliver SonicWall firewalls, access points, VPN clients, and all the other equipment with the SonicWall solution. We have been selling this solution for the past 30 years. We had a customer three months ago struggling with a Fortinet solution. We convinced them that the Fortinet solution would not work perfectly during renewal. We made a bet and delivered SonicWall equipment for free for one week, and if they had no more issues, they would buy it. That's precisely what happened. The customer ended up purchasing an $80,000 SonicWall solution. The SonicWall SonicWave Access Points are a good product compared to Cisco, Sophos, and Fortinet. In Brazil, Ruckus is taking market share in some key areas, such as hotels and hospitals. They are into big solutions with thousands of access points. Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is extremely user-friendly; it is very easy to configure and work with."
"The web-based administration is what I find most beneficial."
"Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is 100% reliable, as I have never faced any issues in our deployment after deployment, and the support is also very good."
"The after-sales services are helpful."
"Meraki products are better than Cambium Networks Wireless LAN because the quality of the Wi-Fi is better, and it is easier to manage."
"It provides strong coverage for outdoor areas."
"We can scale it if we need to."
"The product has valuable throughput capabilities. It also has an inbuilt spectrum analyzer for stable connectivity."
"The security features of SonicWall are highly valued."
"Unlike the Cisco solution that needs a dedicated wireless controller outside of a firewall, SonicWall has everything in one box. Fortinet is close to it."
"The platform's most valuable feature is the ability to provide cloud access to configure and manage devices."
"A good management tool that can be managed through the cloud or firewall."
"I rate SonicWall a nine out of ten."

Cons

"I would rate the initial setup of Cambium Networks Wireless LAN as seven out of ten. It's not easy to do some of the access point configurations sometimes, as the policy cannot be mapped easily, which is the reason for my rating."
"The product pricing needs improvement."
"Cambium currently lacks such extensive analytics capabilities."
"The direct technical support from Cambium teams needs to be improved."
"I believe there's room for improvement in the configuration options for point-to-point setups directly from the cloud management interface. Currently, the process feels a bit clunky—you monitor the unit in the cloud but need to make configuration changes by editing a text file, then downloading it back to the unit. This method can be error-prone, as even a small mistake in the text file could disrupt the unit's configuration."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing model."
"Not a lot of technical engineers are familiar with Cambium Networks Wireless LAN. They are familiar with implementing and using other solutions such as Aruba. Therefore, Cambium Networks needs to be more visible in the marketplace."
"I do not see any benefits compared with other products. I do not see things which Cambium Networks Wireless LAN has and the others do not."
"The product's pricing is high and could be improved."
"Integrating with the firewall and management console was a little complex."
"We have a lot of overlapping wireless networks with a lot of cheap equipment that does not run on any rules or regulations. The best way to improve the wireless network, like in SonicWaves, is to defeat these networks by isolating, preventing them, or overcoming their wireless signal. We try to do that, but I live near an airport, and the AirPortRadar glitches my wireless network every nine seconds."
"They are sometimes difficult to manage from the end-user side because they are not yet familiar with the configuration."
"The main issue is the management of the access points. They are sometimes difficult to manage from the end-user side because they are not yet familiar with the configuration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing and licensing might vary based on each country's specific needs and telecommunication regulations."
"The licensing costs for this solution are calculated per asset, and depending on the model of the equipment, it starts at $230, and goes up to roughly $1,200. The benefit of this solution is that there are no hidden costs; no cost for managing the equipment, and no cost for maintaining the equipment during its usable lifetime."
"The pricing for Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is much cheaper than Meraki. For example, I have to pay $200 for one AP from Cambium, while for a Meraki AP, I have to pay $450 including the user license. Meraki has a higher price over Cambium Networks Wireless LAN."
"I would place it in the mid-range market segment, balancing affordability and profitability."
"I rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten."
"Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is cheaper than Aruba."
"It is an expensive product compared to other competitors."
"High-end products from Cambium PTP, point-to-point radio, maybe cost around $1000 per year."
"The pricing of the SonicWave Access Points solution is different in the US and Brazil. In the US, the solution is priced more competitively than other vendors. In Brazil, the exchange rate is a problem. To address this, SonicWall managers in Brazil are running several sales promotions and improving the price of new units."
"The platform offers yearly licenses."
