We use Carbon Black for monitoring.  We haven't experienced any significant incidents, yet. So far, we've mostly been weeding out all the false positives.  Carbon Black provides an overview of all our assets and their status.  Carbon Black's support could be better.  I have used Carbon Black…

Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The valuable features are threat hunting, threat intelligence feeds, and it culls all the activities of the endpoint. Additionally, the ML and AI engines are really good."
"The greatest value of MDR involves the tests, reporting and alerts, so that we may respond immediately."
"This is where Carbon Black has been phenomenal for us, it has detected many security concerns."
"I don't have to take care of this product; it's just working and that's it, and I don't have to think about anything."
"Carbon Black provides an overview of all our assets and their status."
"The installation process is quick and easy."
"The greatest value of MDR involves the tests, reporting and alerts, so that we may respond immediately."
"IBM QRadar has improved my organization by introducing many functions. It collects logs from all of our systems in the organization and has functioned very well. It alerts and correlates the aggregate events or offenses we receive through all the applications we use."
"Due to the skills shortage, we are able to use it from the standpoint of bringing in a lower level employee or a person who may not have security knowledge."
"The most valuable feature currently is security behaviors and the pdf files."
"Instant continuous monitoring so that we can take action immediately and be proactive as much as possible with handling hacking and attacking attempts."
"In addition to using this solution for our security operations center, we are using it for our other customers."
"The detection rate is good and the false positive rate is low."
"I think QRadar is the best solution you can get."
"The initial setup is not complex or difficult."

Cons

"As the solution has changed hands, I expect some changes in licensing and in support."
"In the future, it would be great if they could provide endpoint management and the ADR solution together in this package."
"In the future, it would be great if they could provide endpoint management and the ADR solution together in this package."
"As the solution has changed hands, I expect some changes in licensing and in support. It remains to be seen if that will be good or bad."
"Carbon Black's support could be better."
"We would like to see better instrumentation for debugging changes in the log flow."
"In terms of additional features, a mobile app would be nice. Also, the reporting is definitely okay, but you have to make sure that everybody with different roles can understand it. There is room for improvement in the reporting."
"From my point of view, they should improve the backup procedures. QRadar does not allow sending backups by FTP or SFTP, limiting the tool."
"Before we didn't have any security issues but recently a few of the user emails were hacked. We had to actually recreate their emails for them."
"There could be improvements made to the UI, the user interface. Though the newer version, 7.3.2, might already have this improvement in place."
"Technical support is good, but not great."
"I would like the rule creation interface to be much more user-friendly in the next release."
"The weak signal detection with QRadar needs improvement. You can detect what you know, but what is unknown to the rule engine can't be detected."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of this solution is inexpensive compare with others. The company went out of its way to provide us with a favorable discount. However, there is room for improving the current licensing model and the price of some of the fees. The model is complex and could be streamlined."
"Its price is good in terms of efficiency and the number of people required for implementing various things. You might pay more in terms of money, but you might save on the number of people. For example, if you are using Kibana, you have to pay more for people or experts, which is not the case with IBM QRadar."
"There is a license to use this solution, which is paid annually. However, there are subscription options available."
"A good approach would be to begin with an On Cloud subscription, then later on do a more exact sizing."
"The price of this solution is a little bit expensive, so if it were cheaper then it would help."
"QRadar UBA's price is a little more than street price and could be reduced."
"QRadar is quite expensive. It wouldn't be worth it for a small business..."
"Most of the time, it is easier and cheaper to buy a new product or the QRadar box."
"It's very expensive but it fits our budget."
