Network security enhancement with sturdy switches despite high costs

Good for networking large buildings, but there are problems with failing parts and the price should be lowered
I have experience with many vendors including Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco Meraki. These days, we primarily sell switches from HPE, Aruba, and Cisco. There is not much difference in the features between these switches and the one from Enterasys. It is only the command set that is different. Aruba is the easiest switch to configure. The access list should be different on Enterasys switches, compared to other vendors.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The quality of service is one of the main reasons we use Cisco in our organization. It's quite high and very reliable. The switches also end up working for a long time, so there's less need to replace them as often as others. We have some switches in our company that has been running since 2006, for example. They are quite old, but they still work."
"The solution is a high-end router that can handle a huge network with tons of traffic."
"The most valuable features are network monitoring and management."
"You get good support for Cisco Ethernet Switches versus other products in the market."
"They are easy to use and have low maintenance requirements."
"Very stable solution with a very low failure rate."
"We only deal with Cisco products, they are very good."
"The performance of Cisco Ethernet Switches is better."
"Enterasys Ethernet Switches are stable."
"This is a big telco switch with six slots."

Cons

"The GUI is not that easy."
"The local support resources for Cisco in Bangledesh are very poor and should be increased."
"The initial setup can be simplified."
"Cisco's pricing can be a concern, particularly with support fees."
"Switches should be made stackable, even if they are not of the same model."
"The solution's reliability should be improved."
"Setting up Cisco Ethernet Switches is not very easy; I'd rate it around four out of ten in terms of ease."
"If we can have fewer bugs on our switches, that would be great. We had bugs that caused the switch to reboot. There is probably a problem with the software."
"The initial setup could be made simpler."
"Enterasys could provide better support, needs an improved user interface and improved performance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"These switches are expensive, but they are an excellent buy and definitely have value for the investment."
"There is a license required for this solution and the price could be better."
"The cost of Cisco Ethernet Switches is expensive."
"Cisco Ethernet Switches are more expensive than Huawei Ethernet Switches."
"Pricing for this product is high but the cost is worth it if you can afford it."
"Cisco offers annual and three-year license options."
"In addition to the fees being high, you pay for support which is also on the higher side."
"The equipment might be more expensive, but when you take total ownership of the configuration, maintenance, and analysis, then it's a large benefit. Sometimes customers see only the first cost of the switches and don't look any further. This is a weak point of Cisco."
"These switches are very expensive compared to those from other vendors."

Benefits of Juniper vs Cisco
Both are decent products. I prefer Juniper for the following reasons: 1) Cleaner separation of data plane from control plane. Higher end Cisco devices are better at this but most of the lower end products still seem to be more integrated than I like. 2) The Hierarchical config design means I can…
