Streamline network management with a unified dashboard for seamless device integration
The primary use case for Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN is mostly for enterprise wireless, including guest Wi-Fi and enterprise Wi-Fi. I use it across various industries with a focus on retail Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN offers a single pane of glass management. It only comes with a controller on the…

Reliable and high-performance wireless networking with exceptional stability, scalability, and robust feature set
One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly. This feature enables APs in a specific zone to automatically adjust their channels, optimizing performance. Additionally, Ruckus Wireless stands out for its ability to reuse certain beams, resulting in smaller data spots. In my experience with various products, Ruckus Wireless consistently delivers unparalleled throughput, coverage, and reliability in wireless networking across different environments. As a noteworthy point, the newly launched WiFi 7 standard is measured against Ruckus's WiFi 7 AP, establishing it as the global benchmark. When it comes to WiFi, Ruckus sets the standard, outperforming competitors with its superior performance and capabilities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Meraki is a decent solution for a small company, and we use it in a pretty typical way. We need Teams and Zoom to work, and we need a high level of security because we want our business to remain confidential."
"The automatic VMware update is very useful because you don't have to worry about outages and planning for VMware updates. It is very advantageous from a management point of view. The ability to restrict and review the clients connected to each of our segments. Additionally, the solution is easy to use."
"Multiple access ID capabilities, meshing, and the quality of the product itself are all valuable features."
"The interface makes it easy to manage."
"There are many valuable features of Cisco Meraki, including the switches, stacking, and layer 3 routing."
"The ability to manage it remotely is the most valuable. If it has an internet connection, you can get to it. It is a great product for remote clinics. We kind of thought about doing this kind of standalone technology. Meraki is easy to manage. From a management perspective, it is the easiest to use, especially in the cloud. I like Meraki. I even have it in my home."
"Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN is a user-friendly solution that has good performance and stability."
"For Meraki, the ease of deployment and management is most valuable."
"The speed between client to client is really nice. It is better than any other vendor, but officially, I cannot say that to people."
"Our IT staff can quickly issue guest passes for vendors and the instructions are very straightforward, requiring very little effort to get connected."
"The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is its exceptional performance and reliability. The signal is highly reliable. We have not received a single complaint in the past year, which is a marked improvement from our prior equipment."
"We are able to quickly identify Rogue WAPs in our network and move to disconnect them immediately when Ruckus alerts us."
"There is better security on our internal SSID/VLAN due to the use of Zero-IT."
"The solution provides superior coverage."
"In general, all implementations are standard and pretty straightforward."
"Ruckus Wireless supports the most recent technologies. We can trace every individual and what kind of traffic they're using on our campus. It is very helpful."

Cons

"Its price should be reduced."
"We haven't had any issues with the solution. We like the way it works. There isn't anything I can think of that makes me worry that it might be lacking in a certain area."
"It would be useful to have a service management platform integrated within this solution where we can measure the customer experience."
"The initial setup was simple. However, the full deployment could be easier."
"There's nothing that special about it."
"Recently I have seen that the Meraki access point, maybe due to congestion, just kicks off my customers, mostly when they are in Zoom meetings or Teams meetings and they have to reconnect."
"It is super expensive for what you get. I just wish it was less expensive."
"The pricing structure could be improved."
"The tool is expensive."
"I would like to see this product made a little more economical because it's very expensive."
"The price could be improved."
"I recommend enhancing flexibility for administrators within the Partner Domain."
"They have so many products that there are so many different part numbers for the US and other countries. That means it's easy to make a mistake with the licensing. You have to have somebody knowledgeable on the other end with the licensing. If you make one mistake, it can be a $2,000 mistake."
"They need more products in the lower-end range for smaller clients."
"It could be cheaper."
"Most customers revoke the idea of deploying it when they observe the cost per AP license."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would say that they have adequate pricing."
"There are multiple licensing options including three months, six months, and one year."
"The solution is overpriced and more expensive than Hauwei."
"It is expensive."
"You have to renew your contract every year, or for three or for five years. If you do not pay right away they will suspend your subscription."
"The solution is pretty expensive."
"The platform is expensive."
"I don't deal with pricing directly, however, it's my understanding that it is around $40 per unit."
"Pricing is very competitive for an enterprise solution. Regarding licensing, always carry the support contract on the controller (not needed on APs)."
"The reason we picked Ruckus, in addition to our long-standing relationship with Ruckus, is pretty much that the RFS characteristics of it seem to be the best."
"We have a yearly license for our multiple mode 200 or 300 Ruckus Wireless systems. It's a good price."
"With Ubiquiti, there's no annual cost to keep the software upgraded, whereas with Ruckus, you have to pay an annual fee or three-year fee. That makes it a little more pricey."
"We found it a little more expensive than the other competitors on the market."
"Not all of our clients can afford a fully corporate solution like Ruckus. But for many of our clients, pricing is the only factor that prevents them from choosing Ruckus, as we have found Ruckus to be a very suitable and reliable solution for integrating wireless access points to a company's network."
"Ruckus is an expensive solution."
"We don't pay any licensing fees, we purchase them."
