Integrating the tool with other solutions is very easy, so there is no problem with the product. I suggest other people take the best from the product since it is a really good solution. I would not change to a different product extension from Fortinet FortiGate Cloud as it makes you feel safe. If a customer wants to save his or her company, then it is better to get Fortinet FortiGate Cloud because it is one of the best solutions with which you can manage everything, like access points, switches, VLANs, and splitting of NAT, from one place. You can do it all from one point. With FortiGate, you can manage the VLANs, and you have them in every place, every switch, and every port. You can select the VLAN and the tool works. If Fortinet can become better, then it is even better. I rate the tool a ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the Intrusion prevention."
"The most valuable feature is the automation, as it reduces user intervention and allows us to focus on other tasks."
"The most valuable feature is that you can push one policy or one rule out to several devices at a time."
"If our server is blocked, this solution shows us why it is blocked and allows us to update the network routing."
"If we have a firewall go down, I can hop into CDO, pull the latest configuration off and apply it. That's really good. It helps save time."
"This product provides excellent centralized device controls and reporting."
"With Cisco Defense Orchestrator, we can manage the complete Cisco Security solution. It provides a simple and centralized way to manage all products."
"There are a lot of templates that are already built-in. They give you quick-to-create and quick-to-apply policies that are typically a little more complicated for people."
"The most valuable FortiGate Cloud feature is logging. It's there seven days a week, and there is no hard limit on logs or size restrictions. This much capacity will show up for that seven days. FortiGate Cloud offers many other valuable features like Fortinet Secure Gateway, SASE, and the Fortinet Security Fabric."
"I have found the SD-WAN, flexibility, and security the most valuable features."
"The solution offers good network performance and efficiency."
"The solution includes a very stable VPN and IPS."
"This product is easy to manage and easy to use."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud has security features like DDoS protection and UTM."
"It's easy to use and the fact that I can schedule the report to come to my inbox at set times is very convenient for me."
"It's quite easy to use, and it's easy to find the necessary information from the web."

Cons

"They need to work on the user interface. It needs to be improved to make it more user-friendly."
"When logging into the device, we sort of had problems with it staying in sync. If somebody made a change onsite, it wouldn't do an automatic sync. It would have to wait, as you would have to do a manual sync up."
"CDO doesn't have a report, an official report that I can check daily. It has another module called FTD, but it doesn't have that specifically for ASA. In the reporting, there are a lot of things that aren't there. There is also room for improvement in the daily monitoring."
"I'd like CDO to be the one-stop-shop where we could do all the configurations easily. It would be nice, for ASA upgrades, if we could do them from a central repository and not have to reach out to Cisco. That would be a definite plus."
"There could be some slight improvements to navigation. In some of the navigation you've got to go back to be able to get into where you need to be once you've made a change. If I make a change, I've then got to go back to submit and send the change."
"The main thing that would useful for us would the logging and monitoring. I have to check it out, to get the beta, because I don't have access to them... I wanted CDO to be a central place so where I could do everything but right now I don't think that's possible. I really don't want to go back and forth between this and FMC. Maybe the logging portion, when I look at it, will give me some similarities."
"If I make a change locally to the firewall, CDO gives an alarm or an error message and says there's a change in compliance: "The firewall has this configuration but the last time it was compiled it had that configuration." That view of new changes versus the old could be better... I had to log in manually, locally on the firewall, to check which version, which configuration was actually running. I couldn't see it in CDO."
"I've found dozens of bugs over the year we've been using it. The more I use it for different things, the more problems I find... Most of the problems have to do with the user interface. A lot of thought and work has gone into the back-end component to make the product do what it's intended to do, but the way it is presented for use hasn't gotten nearly as much thought to make it smart and bug-free."
"There are European and US clouds and sometimes we mix them up. The solution should make determining the clouds more clear, or make one cloud instead of having separate ones."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud could improve the dashboards."
"Improving the platform's intuitiveness and consolidating functionalities, such as reporting and firewall features, could enhance user experience and reduce the need for multiple product purchases."
"As with any IT vendor, there are software issues."
"When we fully utilize certain functions, the CPU and memory utilization can reach 100% or more, causing the system to become unresponsive during production hours."
"Reporting is an area that can be enhanced."
"The console or demonstration tool could be more user friendly."
"The new versions of the tool sometimes have bugs, and so we often have to spend a lot of time fixing issues in the solution. I want the patches offered by the product to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"After our free trial was done we got a subscription for three years and it was under $3,000 or so. It's part of the EA we already paid for, so I don't know what it would be if it was a la carte."
"It is about a $100 per year for an ASA 5506 firewall, and from there it keeps going up if you have a bigger box. For example, the 5516 is $200 to $300 per year."
"It is covered under the CIsco Enterprise License Agreement (ELA). So, it is licensed and ours."
"It's around £500 per unit for a three-year license."
"I work with a lot of clients, and the price or value of the Cisco Defense Orchestrator can vary from one client to another. If you have a lot of Cisco solutions, the price of the Cisco Defense Orchestrator is justified. Whereas if you have some security components from other vendors, such as Check Point or Palo Alto. This solution would be a pretty expensive proposition considering that they don't integrate with them well."
"If you compare to what is available on the market, they are in the same range with respect to pricing."
"The license does not include many of the features that are necessary, which means that you have to pay extra for them."
"The pricing is mid-ranged, it's not very expensive but it's not the cheapest or most affordable in the market."
"We pay around $19,000 a year and do not pay for extra technical support."
"I rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud is cheaper than VMware and Cisco in the Bangladeshi market. Its pricing is reasonable."
"All the consulting and deployment charges are included in the product's licenses. There are no additional costs."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing a one or two. The pricing is suitable for our company."
"The pricing is competitive."
