Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Quite good back-end architecture for end users but the API is very, very bad
Our company uses the solution for system, program, service request, change, and knowledge-based management.  We perform CMD authorizations and use a lot of integrations for our in-house or third-party applications. We also use Salesforce automations and Microsoft orchestrations.  We have about…

Codeless with no customization required and excellent pricing
We have just displaced a ServiceNow installation, which is a major win. We have become partners with Halo and reduced our partnerships with other enterprise ITSM providers. We've actually become partners with Halo, and we've got rid of our partnership with Ivanti ITSM. It's a real market changer, for sure.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that a job by RPA can be done three or four times faster than a human without human error."
"AA has indirectly helped in re-engineering processes, which has made them more robust and efficient, and this has helped the business immensely."
"When anybody talks about Robotic Process Automation, Automation Anywhere is the first thing that comes to my mind."
"We automated one process that was running with 109 people and reduced it down to 69 with automation."
"It has provided our organization a lot of benefits, as we have reduced our headcount, approximately 200 to 300 employees, by eliminating manual, repetitive work and providing profit to the business."
"The best aspect is the user interface. It is very user-friendly and snappy, responding quickly compared to other available tools. It is easy to learn, and the community support is good for asking questions and getting answers."
"The setup is straightforward. Automation Anywhere provides customer success managers to help with the setup."
"Currently, everyone wants to experiment more and more with cloud offerings. They don't want to spend money on setting up their internal hardware infrastructure. Automation Anywhere is the only tool that provides a pure cloud to customers. That is one of the key features."
"Self-service interface means people can check their own tickets."
"The most valuable feature are the time sheets, it's a very powerful tool."
"Clarity is flexible to implement and integrate. It gives the developer or consultant a broad space to work and customize based on what the customers want."
"All incidents, requirements, changes and problems are documented in one database."
"It has made us a lot more organized, and a lot more aware of what needs to happen."
"What I like about it are the features that allow me to integrate with Service Desk Manager and Process Automation, and to build creative solutions based on the integration with other CA products."
"Our stability has been really great."
"It helps us have a clearer understanding of our environment, that's the big part of it that I use."
"The product’s UI is very good."
"The most valuable aspect is that is is codeless."
"The solution's initial setup process was quite straightforward... I rate the technical support a nine and a half out of ten."

Cons

"Apart from the Chrome issue, which took them maybe a week to fix, we lost a lot of processes during that time, but it just happens unfortunately."
"Because I am using an older version, I am rating the scalability as a seven out of 10. I feel a lack of convenience when I try to scale it."
"The bot scaling process was painful, when you go beyond a few bots, and because we had stability issues. We had to work through the issues, and they took us a long time."
"The main disadvantage of Automation Anywhere is its high cost."
"To achieve a perfect ten, I would want to see new features working as expected and further advancements in automation."
"It is a bit wonky with HTML when I'm working with it. There are times when it's not able to detect the technology that we are using. I don't know whether it's an Automation Anywhere issue or an internal issue. I want it to work smoothly with more technologies."
"The vendor should increase the training and other engagements with users before they acquire the platform, as this will simplify its usage further and ensure that there no hindrances in using the platform."
"The process discovery side needs improvement."
"The UI is old and passé."
"I would like to see the API cleaned up."
"The upgrading process needs to be improved. They need more testing with more customers before the release."
"As an end user I don't probably use it the way that other people would use it, but maybe automatic opening of tickets for other products would be helpful."
"I noticed more crashing for some strange reason, being that it's on our own servers and we don't know why."
"We went from 12.1 to 14, so there was a lot involved in it. The issues we had were migration issues, getting our information from one place to the next and making sure everything was as everyone needed."
"The cost of this solution is too high, which is why we're leaving."
"Improvements would include simplification in the user interface, being more expandable, better documentation. The user interface is fairly cluttered, and we can update it the way we need to, but it just seems dated."
"There are no improvements needed. There is very little that HALO has not already built that is not on its roadmap."
"The product does not have its own orchestration engine."
"The solution's integration part needs to improve...In the future release of the solution, I expect to see certain changes in the programming of the solution. A customer of the solution should be able to customize it as per their need."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are currently negotiating a contract. Depending upon that, we will definitely look at increasing usage."
"I feel the cost of licensing is very high for the A2019 version."
"If you are looking into Automation Anywhere, get the Community Edition and play with it."
"The product starts at $10,000 and then it's up to you regarding how much you can consume."
"Currently, it stands as one of the more expensive RPA tools available."
"It costs up to $1,200 per license."
"The solution's pricing is pretty decent."
"If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
"I don't see anyone other than large companies being able to afford this system."
"The pricing is based on a subscription model."
"It is a bit expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. It is worth it!"
"There is a subscripted needed to use Clarity SM. The price of the solution could be less expensive. ServiceNow is less expensive and BMC Helix is priced similar to Clarity SM."
"I think pricing of this model is suitable for growing corporations."
"The solution is quite reasonable compared to other solutions in the market."
"Pricing is simple, as it’s per concurrent analysts."
"Clarity offers a perpetual license. Customers purchase the license once and then pay for maintenance. CA provides a subscription model as well. Both models are available for our customers."
"The product’s pricing is competitive and less complicated."
"It's $69 per user per month. Only administrators need a license, and there is no limit to the number of endpoints."
"The solution's pricing model is good. Also, they still follow the old concurrent licensing method."
