Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Quite good back-end architecture for end users but the API is very, very bad
Our company uses the solution for system, program, service request, change, and knowledge-based management.  We perform CMD authorizations and use a lot of integrations for our in-house or third-party applications. We also use Salesforce automations and Microsoft orchestrations.  We have about…

Stable, easy to install, and cost effective, but it needs better integration and data management
It needs better integration with other tools like Jira. Better reporting and better data management are also needed. I believe the way they're structured is the flat file. So it'd be better if they actually used a database for the data storage, and a more robust portal. I would like more flexible reporting.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The use cases we're working on and the deterministic automations implemented so far have given us a great productivity boost in various functional areas across the globe, which has significantly helped the organization, and as we evolve towards more agentic and AI features from Automation Anywhere, these will further assist us in achieving end-to-end process automation rather than just peripheral automations."
"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"Automation Anywhere has significantly helped us achieve our automation goals, mainly by reducing costs, which alleviates organizational burdens."
"Before the automation, it used to take about two to three hours, now, with automation, it takes about 40 minutes."
"The universal recorder is a kind of hybrid recorder that enables the user to record the data across devices."
"There are instances where use cases and opportunities have arisen as a result of having Automation Anywhere and RPA in place that have come about through very casual conversations and have actually resulted in increased revenue opportunities that we didn't realize."
"It integrates with different types of applications, so we can automate our business partners' redundant, repetitive tasks."
"Automation Anywhere has improved our company a lot. The SLA of some tasks that we need to deliver to some clients has improved greatly."
"It established a more organized dynamic and the ability to better plan activities."
"If properly deployed, I think that the CA Service Desk Manager is scalable."
"The process automation component is incredibly valuable, as it cuts down on the workload of teams, organizational and clerical work, and allows employees to be more efficient."
"Solution is scalable. It does work. We can modify it up better to make it the way we want it to work. We have implemented it for larger and smaller companies."
"The major improvement in functions is their ability to track, report incidents, problem, changes and configuration management."
"It gives us one central location to know, not only who is contacting us, but what they're contacting us for, what application they're contacting us for."
"Provides quicker resolution of all tickets with SLA management; reporting is quick and easy; tickets can be tracked and escalations can be handled by the correct teams."
"The product is quite stable and highly scalable."
"The two most valuable features are the portal and reporting."
"It is more flexible than our current solution."
"Absolutely, we have seen a return on our investment."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere can be improved in terms of complex logic implementation."
"For me at the very beginning when I started working with that, the technical setup was extremely complicated and extremely problematic, and we spent half a year to really make the software work."
"20 percent of the bots need to supervised because sometimes errors occur during the run. Most of the errors that I have encountered have been because the object cloning did not capture the buttons properly."
"I have seen that the South American support is not as good as it should be."
"Automation Anywhere's UI is difficult. Its user interface can be improved."
"Sometimes I get challenges with the customer support team; when I contact them, they are sometimes busy, and I get delays in replies."
"The vendor should increase the training and other engagements with users before they acquire the platform, as this will simplify its usage further and ensure that there no hindrances in using the platform."
"The UI could be made better because the UI in Version 11 was better and easier as compared to a2019."
"One area of this product that needs improvement is the user mobile experience."
"Customer Service: Horrific. Unless an explicit and costly "service issue" was raised through the enterprise support agreement, CA had zero interest in accepting problem reports."
"We would like the CMDB to be populated automatically. At the moment, everything is manually created."
"The user interface is just boring. I'd like to see a more interactive UI, from the end-user perspective, and from the analyst's perspective. I would like a product that looks like it was developed maybe in 2015, or at least 2012."
"Room for improvement I would say from a back end perspective, I would say they need to streamline a lot of the code that they're using. I think it's very bloated, I think it has a lot of extra things that it doesn't really need."
"They should enhance the service desk manager's service point function to be more customizable."
"Just little technical tweaks here and there. Like more options. For example "Organization." We wanted that to be available inside the change order, as well as the ticket and the request. And that's not available."
"The API is very, very bad so we developed our own."
"It needs better integration with other tools like Jira."
"It's a very cost-effective solution, but it's not robust."
"Yes. Major system issues and outages during our implementation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I really enjoy the pricing options with Automation Anywhere, as they are able to flex their ability to adapt to the needs of the customer really well."
"IQ Bots are very costly. It's not a sustainable bot for us as of now. We will look for better, alternate options for that."
"The licensing cost could be improved. It costs a lot. At the very least, the developer licenses and the control panels should be made free to enterprises, and the production environment licensed."
"The price of this product is good."
"From my experience, I can say that the initial setup cost is easily recovered over a period of time once the bots start running in production."
"It's cheaper than other similar solutions."
"The setup cost for this is onetime and licensing is based on your choice of product."
"The setup and licensing cost is affordable, and it is not exaggerated like UiPath."
"It is a bit expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. It is worth it!"
"Pricing is simple, as it’s per concurrent analysts."
"The pricing is based on a subscription model."
"The solution is quite reasonable compared to other solutions in the market."
"Clarity offers a perpetual license. Customers purchase the license once and then pay for maintenance. CA provides a subscription model as well. Both models are available for our customers."
"There is a subscripted needed to use Clarity SM. The price of the solution could be less expensive. ServiceNow is less expensive and BMC Helix is priced similar to Clarity SM."
"I don't see anyone other than large companies being able to afford this system."
"I think pricing of this model is suitable for growing corporations."
"The price is approximately $70 per agent, per month."
