Very easy to schedule jobs and monitor them, however we run out heap space even with a high allocation

Long-term integration has supported real-time data exchange and simplified adapter-based workflows
The challenges I have faced with TIBCO BusinessWorks mostly relate to financial applications that do not come with those adapters, so that requires custom coding. The features currently in TIBCO BusinessWorks are good enough, but going forward, as we are doing a lot of AI-based integrations, I would like to see TIBCO come up with more prompt-driven configurations rather than people having to understand deep technology. AI-driven features in TIBCO BusinessWorks would be beneficial, so that our business tech BA can do the development rather than needing programmers. More artificial intelligence functionality would help so people do not have to code.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Connectivity to various data sources: The ability to extract data from different data sources gives greater flexibility."
"We switched to CloverETL because of its flexibility to connect to various data sources and no dependence on native language and ease of use."
"Familiar, intuitive GUI coming from a Java development background, in-depth, descriptive, and well-laid-out documentation, responsive support through forums directly from Clover staff, a wealth of customizable pre-defined components, descriptive logging for error messages, and ease of install with a light footprint make it very effective to use."
"No dependence on native language and ease of use."
"Key features include wealth of pre-defined components; all components are customizable; descriptive logging, especially for error messages."
"Server features for scheduler: It is very easy to schedule jobs and monitor them. The interface is easy to use."
"The most valuable features are the stability and the time to market."
"The Business Studio interface based on SCA Standards helps to show the business logic at first look and improve code maintenance."
"BusinessWorks reduces development time, helping developers to focus on business logic."
"I like TIBCO BusinessWorks because it has a user-friendly GUI for developing solutions."
"We are using only plugins for the database and SAP."
"The most valuable part of the solution is the ease-of-use and ease of deployment."
"It is a seamless and sophisticated tool."
"Areas for improvement would be the cloud fitness of the product and the ease of migrating to newer versions."

Cons

"Resource management: We typically run out of heap space, and even the allocation of high heap space does not seem to be enough."
"Needs easier automated failure recovery, more and more intuitive auto-generated or filled-in code for components, and easier or more automated sync between CloverETL Designer and CloverETL Server."
"Its documentation could be improved."
"A possible improvement could be to give the capability to use different profiles for each AppNode when an application is deployed on an AppSpace."
"The technical support's turnaround time is an area where TIBCO needs to consider improvements...Getting support from TIBCO on a particular issue takes a lot of turnaround time."
"Overall, TIBCO BusinessWorks has not evolved properly over time, and right now, if you compare it to other solutions that have evolved drastically, TIBCO BusinessWorks will pale in comparison; it's an outdated product."
"The challenges I have faced with TIBCO BusinessWorks mostly relate to financial applications that do not come with those adapters, so that requires custom coding."
"There are not many plugins available to integrate the databases. We have to write it in Java and integrate it. The developers should have more knowledge. These are the three main aspects that they could improve."
"TIBCO BusinessWorks needs to improve its digital IDs and data processing capabilities. It will benefit small and medium businesses."
"Though it is a stable product, if we have an issue with the product, it gets difficult, and it gets really difficult to explain the issue to the support team. Also, it takes a long time to get resolved."
"TIBCO BusinessWorks could be improved with cloud support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"TIBCO BusinessWorks is a very expensive solution."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"Its price policy has changed quite a lot in the last two years. It was extremely expensive previously. Nowadays, you can buy a license for BusinessWorks for €2000. Looking at what you get in return in terms of support, TIBCO community, and stability, it is fairly reasonable. It is not too expensive."
"The payments made for service are the only addition to the standard licensing fees that we pay for the solution."
"The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
"I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
"I give the cost of the solution a four out of ten."
"The license is expensive, and I would rate it one out of ten."
