Data governance has transformed business glossaries and now drives AI-ready insights
I think it's a great platform. Searching can be made a little better. The data marketplace which it provides is also great, but sometimes when we are searching an element and we know we are not sure if we can find it or if we have missed it. Listing data domains in one place for quick visibility will be an add-on. I am not a hardcore coder. For a coder to create workflows and automate the process, I needed to learn Groovy script and create some workflows. In the automation part, I think it can also introduce a low-code, no-code platform where we can connect different connectors and we can quickly create some automated workflows, if at basic level only, because the next big thing is automation and AI. Low-code, no-code platforms are being used by everyone. I think that will be useful. When I look for a data domain, I'm not able to find it very quickly. For a business owner to know data domains and search data domains, it could be made a little easier. Also, the automation part needs improvement. We are only able to enter the data manually or connect to a data source, but now we want to create some workflows as well. That's why I've chosen a rating of eight. Otherwise, it's really great.

Enables comprehensive data governance with role-based access and directory integration
The UI is straightforward for technical users with organized features under different modules like data catalog and business glossary. The role-based access control and integration with the directory system allow strict governance and limited user access. The APIs are comprehensive, enabling integration with other systems even for creating virtual data catalogs.

"Collibra Platform has positively impacted my organization by increasing data usage and helping teams build data products."
"The product's most valuable features are cataloging and classification."
"On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Collibra Data Intelligence Platform a 10."
"The UI is straightforward for technical users with organized features under different modules like data catalog and business glossary."

Cons

"The license for Collibra Governance is expensive."
"The company strategy is also, honestly, infantile compared to a lot of companies."
"Data discovery needs to be improved."
"Collibra Platform's platform needs improvement in certain areas such as workflows designed for administration that send excessive notifications, and sometimes it is unclear how many times a workflow instance was triggered."
"In the automation part, I think it can also introduce a low-code, no-code platform where we can connect different connectors and we can quickly create some automated workflows, if at basic level only, because the next big thing is automation and AI."
"I would say the DBA, the system we've learned, the product is still quite immature."
"Regarding licensing, I find it is one of the more expensive options, so it is not particularly affordable."
"The platform can sometimes be unstable, particularly in terms of speed and reconnection issues."
"The lack of connectivity to mainframe systems and the complexity of integration are areas needing improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product's pricing is high, which its comprehensive features and capabilities may justify."
"Collibra offers a per-user licensing model."
"Generally, it is a rather expensive solution compared to some other tools in the market, but I found it to be fair-priced for its capabilities."
"There are different levels of licenses. For example, some users can only do read-only licenses, and others have the stewardship license where they can give access to users."
"It's expensive, especially for small companies."
"Collibra Governance is an expensive solution."
"I am not so much aware of price details. Initially, there was an add-on NuSoft license to use the DVC connector that NuSoft gives to create integrations, but Collibra is now phasing out of it slowly. Collibra is cutting ties with them is what we have been led to believe, and we have started developing on Spring Boot, which is open source."
"Collibra Governance is extremely expensive"
