Unified data protection has simplified hybrid backups and has improved ransomware recovery speed

Commvault Cloud's best feature in terms of protection is that it provides data protection and accomplishes its job effectively. It offers a unified approach to backup across all environments, including on-premises, public cloud, and SaaS applications such as M365 and Salesforce. I also use it for virtual machines and databases. The unified protection approach helps my team manage different environments effectively. Before Commvault Cloud, I used a separate VM backup tool to protect the VMware environment. For database backup, I had to use the native tool or backup scripts. For the cloud part, I had to use the native AWS or Azure cloud tools. After moving to Commvault Cloud, a single policy or a set of backup policies is applied across virtual machines, databases, workloads, and cloud workloads. I can protect my environments, which reduces manual configuration errors. Regarding visibility, it provides one dashboard to manage and centralize monitoring of all workloads. It is very easy to track backup success or failure. I can see the SLA compliance and storage usage without needing to jump between tools to check or have visibility of it. Regarding the recovery experience, the recovery time has been reduced drastically by using Commvault Cloud. It has simplified cloud management and provides easier manageability to manage retention policies, encryption policies, and compliance rules. This helps reduce operational workloads. Commvault Cloud has impacted me very positively. It simplifies and unifies data protection across hybrid workloads. Instead of managing multiple backup tools for virtual machines, databases, and SaaS applications, I now have a single platform with consistent policies and centralized visibility. This has really reduced my operational complexity and improved backup reliability. Regarding the cyber resiliency posture, the immutable backups and ransomware recovery workflow give me greater confidence in recovering quicker from potential risks. Commvault Cloud has positively impacted me in several key areas: unified backup management across environments, reduced operational overhead, improved ransomware resiliency, faster recovery times, better visibility for compliance, and easier management of hybrid or cloud workloads.

Easy to use and mange with reasonable pricing

The main feature is a specific file type. If we want some PDF files just to back up, the prefix is very easy, and we do everything in Veeam backup. It's straightforward to set up. It's stable. The solution is easy to use. You can centrally manage it. It's potentially free to use.

Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is a robust, trusted data protection and recovery solution for both physical and virtual machines. This solution can be used to safeguard all kinds of machines and devices, such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Veeam Agent for Windows can easily be installed on all Windows-based physical servers, workstations, desktops, and virtual machines, and works well in either a standalone or managed mode.

It is widely understood that all users should back up all stored data on a regularly scheduled basis to protect all important data. In the event of a data disaster, data can easily be restored from the backup using this solution and one would never have to experience a loss of important information. Users can implement Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows to perform regularly scheduled backups automatically, or manually, as needed. Users can choose to back up individual folders and files, designate particular computer files, or even the entire computer image.

Backups can be saved in several different locations, such as:

Create a Veeam Recovery Media file on an external hard drive, CD/DVD/BD, internal hard drive, or choose to establish an ISO file using Veeam Recovery Media on disk.

Create a comprehensive system image backup and securely back up chosen computer volumes or specific personal folders with files. Users have the option to store backups in a network shared folder on an external hard drive, or use the Veeam backup repository, Veeam Cloud Connect Repository, or Microsoft OneDrive.

Veeam Data restore offers two options:

Volume-level restore: Veeam Agent is able to restore the complete content of the entire volume. The solution retrieves the data blocks pertaining to the designated volumes and copies them to the desired location. A volume can then be restored to a new location or its original location.
File-Level Restore: Veeam Agent will use Veeam’s proprietary driver to publish backup content safely to a user's computer file system. Users can then access the content user Veeam’s Virtual Disk Driver (VDK), which is included with the solution. Users can then easily browse and copy the desired files and folders to use as desired.

Veeam Agent for Windows allows users to create a complete recovery image of their computer using Veeam Recovery Media. This image contains all data necessary to run Microsoft Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) while supplying a viable option to run users’ computer systems.
