End-to-end observability has simplified incident analysis and improved performance monitoring
Datadog Services could be better in terms of cost, which is extremely high. They charge a lot of money, and I've seen monthly bills reaching ten thousand dollars for a very small product in my current organization, leading us to consider switching to open-source solutions like SigNoz, or to a solution called Honeycomb for traces, while we use SigNoz for metrics, which has almost significantly reduced our observability costs by around ninety percent. The overall usability and accessibility of Datadog Services, along with its ease of integration, is extremely good, so I must acknowledge their well-crafted documentation on setup. Setting up the agent and getting the metrics was extremely easy, but unfortunately, the only downside remains the cost due to their high premium on existing systems. However, they are pioneers with some good AI agents running, making analysis and alerting extremely proficient, but the cost continues to be an issue.

Automation has transformed complex workflows and has empowered non‑technical teams to build flows
Regarding improvements for n8n, I would highlight two areas. First, while there is a growing community, the ecosystem of pre-built nodes for niche or proprietary systems still lags behind some commercial competitors. I often have to build custom HTTP request nodes or create my own node packages, which is doable but adds to project timelines. Second, features for team collaboration and lifecycle management are still evolving. Moving workflows from development to staging to production can be a manual export-import process, and native Git integration and more robust user roles for larger client teams would be a game-changer. Regarding needed improvements, I believe much of the existing documentation is not peer-reviewed. There is definitely a big community, but if the documentation or tutorials were approved or at least had a badge from n8n, customers would feel that this meets the standards of n8n editors themselves, which would give more confidence in the flows.

Pros

"Datadog Services has positively impacted our organization in performance, making our product extremely good."
"The capability of n8n to connect different applications and automate tasks while supporting over 200 pre-built integrations is pretty effective."
"The best features n8n offers are automation and integration with different tools including Calendar, Gmail, WATI, and many other tools, which help me complete my work faster."
"n8n has positively impacted my organization because we previously needed to write product descriptions manually for over 50,000 products on our website, so we created an automation that automatically writes all meta descriptions and titles, which significantly supports our growth and is very helpful and time-saving for us."
"My recommendation is to start with n8n if you have any need for automation or integration, especially if you value control, cost predictability, and technical transparency."
"We see roughly a 70% reduction in manual processing time on the document pipeline side, which means our clients can focus on higher-value audit and compliance work rather than data entry."
"One positive impact that n8n has had on my customers' organizations is significantly less hassle over SEO or reaching out to clients and scheduling meetings."
"n8n helps automate jobs that no one enjoys doing, which are very repetitive, and it saves time and money because it handles those boring tasks that can now be automated."
"n8n is pretty flexible when it comes to pricing, setup cost, and licensing when compared to other platforms such as Make and Zapier."

Cons

"Datadog Services could be better in terms of cost, which is extremely high. "They haven't fully helped tailor solutions for our needs."
"Currently, most products nowadays include walkthrough or guide videos, short videos of 20 to 30 seconds that inform about any particular button or action, which n8n product does not have."
"n8n has a bit of a learning curve to it; you have to learn a lot."
"The setup of n8n is sometimes very complicated, especially with the HTTP node, which is complex to set up."
"However, I feel that for very complex production environments, it still requires considerable fine-tuning and knowledge, and sometimes it might not be fully ready to support large-scale implementations in production."
"There are limitations in scalability."
"Overall, n8n is a powerful tool, but there are a few areas where it could be improved."
"In my experience, n8n is not very stable, but it has the potential to be more stable."
