Comes with API services and data analytics features but needs to improve stability
We use the product for API and interface collections.  The tool's most valuable features are API services and data analytics.  Datamatics TruCap+ needs to improve its stability.  I have been working with the product for a month.  I rate the tool's stability an eight out of ten.  The product is…

Pre-trained models work well, but it is very expensive
We have to do manual validation for some of the things due to the OCR engine not being so accurate. For example, S is read as 5, 5 as S, 2 as Z, and Z as 2. In the case of currency, if one dot is missing, it gives a completely incorrect number. These discrepancies should be fixed because if the OCR itself doesn't work properly, then AI doesn't help with that. When AI is used for training models, the AI Center works precisely, but if the data itself is wrong, we can't do anything. If the extraction of data is proper, it definitely helps. However, 20% errors could be reduced if the OCR engine were better. In future updates, I would like to see better handling of issues such as when a dot is missing in currency, for example, with dollars, it should handle that automatically. It's very expensive. If the volume increases, we can't afford to use Document Understanding. We are thinking of moving to another solution because we are expecting 80,000 to 100,000 invoices.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's most valuable features are API services and data analytics."
"The quality of the input documents is crucial because sometimes healthcare providers prefer automated processing rather than human review."
"The prebuilt algorithm for extracting foreign invoices is the most valuable feature because it eliminates the need for us to build anything from scratch."
"The highly visual and user-friendly interface was a standout feature."
"It shortens the time of extracting data by 70 to 80%."
"It is a pretty scalable tool, and it works well for big companies."
"It has advanced capabilities compared to other competitors, whether Blue Prism or Automation Anywhere."
"I like the clear and organized way in which UiPath has structured the labeling process, as well as the user-friendly development environment."
"Document Understanding has better machine learning or ML capabilities, and that is why I prefer Document Understanding."

Cons

"Datamatics TruCap+ needs to improve its stability."
"The extraction and classification process should be simplified."
"The UiPath APIs lack reliable table parsing."
"It would be ideal if they could include more packages for more use cases."
"There is also room for improvement in long-running table extraction. If a table continues for more than 10 pages, in some cases, we have observed that it only extracts six or seven pages and skips the last pages."
"Document Understanding's handwriting comprehension is improving, but it's still not as good as printed documents. Machine learning models, in general, are becoming mature, but it's still not to a point where I will give it five stars. I may give it a two or three. It is still not advanced enough to identify whatever handwritten content you give to it. It can process handwriting, but you need a human to validate it. With more training, it will become more automated. It will be better by 2025, but it is still not mature enough"
"One area where UiPath could improve is by including pre-trained models for general-use documents specific to the Middle East."
"The machine learning model needs improvement, as we receive more and more unstructured documents from clients that require a lot of manual validation."
"UiPath Document Understanding has challenges with handwriting and screenshots."

"One of the biggest challenges we face with UiPath is the pricing structure."
