Dremio and SAP Business Data Cloud are products competing in the data management and analytics category. SAP Business Data Cloud appears to have an upper hand due to its comprehensive feature set and extensive integration capabilities, making it suitable for large-scale enterprises.
Features: Dremio delivers quick data insights, advanced data optimization, and self-service data access, which ensure seamless integration with multiple data sources. SAP Business Data Cloud offers comprehensive analytics with scalability and extensive integration capabilities, positioning it as an ideal solution for enterprises needing large-scale capabilities. Its broader feature set distinguishes it from the competition.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service:Dremio is known for a straightforward deployment process and a highly responsive support team, which assists in achieving rapid operational status. On the other hand, SAP Business Data Cloud provides extensive customer service options and resources but involves a complex deployment process due to its wide array of features.
Pricing and ROI: Dremio offers competitive pricing with a flexible cost structure, often leading to a positive ROI by enabling cost-effective scalability. SAP Business Data Cloud, despite having a higher upfront investment, provides value over the long term through its extensive functionality and analytics capabilities, which is appealing for enterprises ready to invest in these expansive features.
Dremio surely saves time, reduces costs, and all those things because we don't have to worry so much about the infrastructure to make the different tools communicate.
We have had to reach out for customer support many times, and they respond, so they are pretty supportive about some long-term issues.
The technical support is a very well-organized service, with a lot of tools for me as a consultant and for the end user on how to contact SAP support and get issues solved.
We are satisfied with the technical support from SAP because when we reached out, we were able to get very good support from SAP colleagues.
I am satisfied with SAP's technical support team; they provide very good support.
Dremio's scalability can handle growing data and user demands easily.
Internally, if it's on Docker or Kubernetes, scalability will be built into the system.
SAP Analytics Cloud can be used by a small company, and it can be used by a large corporate.
I would rate its scalability up to nine on a scale of one to ten.
I rate Dremio a nine in terms of stability.
You have a chance to test it on your test tenant in small increments, so it should not break your productive reports and productive environment.
Starburst comes with around 50 connectors now.
It should be easier to get Arctic or an open-source version of Arctic onto the software version so that development teams can experiment with it.
I see that many times the new versions of Dremio have not fixed old bugs, and in some new versions, old problems that were previously fixed come back again, so I think the upgrade part could use improvement.
On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family.
Documentation-wise, we see some gaps when trying to connect different solutions.
Having everything under one system and an easier-to-work-with interface, along with having API integrations, adds significant value to working with Dremio.
Dremio has positively impacted my organization as nowadays we are connected to multiple databases from multiple environments, multiple APIs, and applications, and Dremio organizes everything in an amazing way for me.
You just get the source, connect the data, get visualization, get connected, and do whatever you want.
For SuccessFactors and S/4HANA Cloud, there are pre-built reports available which are commonly used by customers.
The capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud that I consider the most valuable are that all three functionalities are in one tool.
