Initial setup was relatively straightforward for a clustering solution.
SQL patching High availability We were looking for a better-than-Microsoft-SQL clustering solution. The interface can seem a little old school at times. By Old School, I simply mean from a graphics perspective it looks like word 97, not word 2013. I have used it for three years. The team from…

Easily accesses open solutions with seamless compatibility for testing and development
The most valuable feature is the seamlessness. When I install a Linux operating system, I can use Windows applications through Oracle VM VirtualBox seamlessly. There are many applications that work only on Windows. For desktop testing purposes, I used Oracle VM VirtualBox, and it works fine. The guest OS compatibility was tremendous because I used Oracle VM VirtualBox on Linux and ran Windows applications on top of that, working seamlessly.

Pros

"Customer service is excellent and technical support is excellent."
"Customer service has been excellent so far and technical support has been very helpful, quickly resolving any issues we encountered."
"My primary use of the solution is for testing distributions and installations."
"Oracle VM Virtualbox is easy to use and does not require much training."
"This solution creates a snapshot of virtual machines so you can create test environments."
"This is a highly scalable solution for our infrastructure."
"Oracle VirtualBox is a perfect fit for us."
"Overall, the solution works very well and we have been happy with it."
"This product is extremely easy to install, use, has a great GUI and is incredibly stable."
"Our Return on Investment has been excellent."

Cons

"Upgrading from DxDev to DxEnterprise was a bit more bumpy, but even that was pretty easy to do."
"The interface can seem a little old school at times."
"If there were more API access so that I could run it headlessly, similar to Proxmox where I can use API, it would be useful."
"It has some issues when you have some weird device drivers. For instance, when you have a weird sound driver working on your machine, and the VirtualBox needs to output the sound of the virtual machine into the sound driver of the physical machine, the bare metal, it doesn't work too well."
"The user interface I find to be lacking. If you compare it with VMware or Hyper-V, you have lots of room for improvement."
"The memory and hardware usage could be a little bit lighter. Right now, it's quite heavy on the usage. The CPU usage should be lower."
"The communications setup lags. It does not connect properly so the batching and networking is a bit slow."
"I think this solution needs improvement with the business continuity planning, disaster and recovery management, and using centralized data storage."
"It could improve slightly with enhanced reporting capabilities that show the current status of the network."
"An example of an area of improvement that I can see from my use of it would be the VirtualBox network setting."
