Initial setup was relatively straightforward for a clustering solution.

I remember when I was working as a consultant and implemented Site Recovery Manager from VMware. It was working fine and is a very good solution. Although I used it five or six years in the past, it is very beneficial for customers as a function to build disaster recovery.

Cons

"The interface can seem a little old school at times."

"In the last year, the main issue was pricing. With the Broadcom acquisition of VMware, there were delays and confusion in Brazil and some LATAM countries involving quoting and purchasing."
"The licensing model is an area for improvement. Recently, VMware shifted its licensing models, and they should streamline it."
"Recently, the pricing has gone up a lot for different organizations depending on what licensing they have had since the acquisition by Broadcom, so there is room for improvement on the pricing."
"Regarding the scalability of VMware vSphere Foundation, there are questions about whether it is completely scalable or if there are limitations."
"In the past, we faced challenges with VMware's transition to Broadcom, which caused a lot of frustration."
"VMware has engaged in a practice of trivializing their customers to the degree that makes us want to go elsewhere, and they have a negative attitude concerning their customer."
"The biggest issue is pricing due to the Broadcom acquisition."
"The VMware vSphere Foundation is very good, and the support is also good, but the price now is very expensive. I would rate the support for the VMware vSphere Foundation a six because currently, we have access to engineers, but I have to wait more time to resolve my case due to basic questions."
