Explore innovative database indexing and distributed architecture capabilities
The number of indices available in Postgres is remarkable. Additionally, the way it forks each process into a child node, instead of executing in the same node, is quite different from most databases. These features can be especially useful in certain scenarios compared to MySQL or other SQL-based databases. Also, the ability to distribute the database across different machines is a significant advantage.

Cons

"Lighter integration model for containerized deployment. Effectively, there still remain some issues with a containerized deployment, so we have opted for a non-containerized deployment."
"It suffers issues ranging from data corruption to failing to delete temporary files which then necessitate us having to perform server restarts."
"Postgres performance is suffering and the product model is not doing enough to keep current."
"The product currently fails to offer a mobile application."
"The security is not very robust and the product would be much more useful with more security options."
"The system is aging and not keeping up with the performance of new, enhanced database models."
"I have faced performance issues in the community edition."
"An area for improvement in EDB Postgres Advanced Server is JSONB querying. It would be nice to have even stronger JSONB support from the solution."
"It would be nice to have a graphical user interface to handle the product."
"It would be interesting if they added functionality with redundancy, reputation, and variability."
"It would be good to have more automation and integration with the tools from other vendors."
"Firebird SQL's performance has slowed since Firebird SQL 3 or 3.5 versions, where they developed over-the-wire encryption."
"There aren't a lot of people using this solution — it's not very popular in the marketplace."
"I'd rate the solution five or six out of ten for the possibilities it has currently."
"I don't think the solution is very scalable, because the scalability of the performance when using more than one process is not very good."
"Technical support and performance could be better. We have some problems with this solution, but we don't know if the problem is with the database or the configuration. For example, sometimes, the users can't access the database."
