Logging and vector search have transformed observability and empowered reliable ai agents
Elastic Search is not specifically being used for certain purposes. I deploy Elastic Search database on the cloud and use cloud services so that nobody can attack. However, I do not use Elastic Search to resolve attack issues. The basic main purpose of Elastic Search, as of now, I feel it can do more in the AI area. Sometime I saw that when I am developing RAG and have to generate the embeddings, which I call metadata, sometimes it tries to fail. That durability or issue handling should be improved, but apart from that, I did not find anything as of now. As per my use case, whatever I am using seems pretty good. Apart from that, some definitely improvement will be there. One improvement is that it should be faster. Whenever I am searching any logs, it takes much time. For example, if I open my log in Notepad or a similar tool, I can search the text within a second. With Elastic Search, it takes a little bit of time, ten to fifteen seconds. That can be improved. Sometimes, engineers take time to assign when I create a ticket.

Higher conversion rates with an advanced algorithm and intuitive interface
An area for improvement is the interface language, as our team mainly speaks French. Offering a French-language option would significantly enhance accessibility and streamline usage. Additionally, simplifying interactions with the Luigi's Box team, such as through localized support or tools tailored to non-English-speaking users, would improve collaboration. These changes would ensure a more seamless integration of the solution into our daily operations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One thing I appreciate about Elastic Search is the ability to aggregate everything into one dashboard, so I can have monitoring, logs, and traces in one portal instead of having multiple different tools to do the same."
"I think that Elasticsearch is a good product and cheaper than Splunk."
"The solution is valuable for log analytics."
"Elastic Enterprise Search is a nonstructured database that can manage large amounts of nonstructured data."
"The solution is quite scalable and this is one of its advantages."
"Elastic Search has excellent features, particularly its scalability and speed."
"The most valuable features are the data store and the X-pack extension."
"This product has notably improved the way we store and use logs, from having a more user-friendly, centralized solution (for those who just needed a quick glance, without being masters of sed and awk) to implementing various mechanisms for machine-learning from our logs, and sending alerts for anomalies."
"The seamless integration with our e-commerce platform has made it easy to implement and manage, allowing us to focus on delivering a top-notch user experience."
"Luigi's Box increased conversion rates and improved user experience on the website."
"Within the dashboard, the application offers data analysis that works with different views of the customer data. This data is graphically processed and thus does not need to be further modified for better interpretation."
"Luigi's Box is helpful in implementing even non-standard requirements."
"Thanks to this solution, we’ve seen a significant improvement in our conversion rate (CVR) compared to last year, proving its effectiveness in driving performance and optimizing results."
"In analytics, we can see what our visitors can't find with us, because we can look in history to see what products they wanted to search for and couldn't find. We can see the exact number of people who wanted to find something."
"Its seamless integration with existing platforms streamlines workflows, making it an indispensable tool for businesses of all sizes."
"Luigi's Box is an excellent tool that solves our problems with the search and recommended products in the carousels."

Cons

"To do what we want to do with Elastic Search, the queries can get complex and require a fuller understanding of the DSL."
"Both the graph feature and the reporting feature are a little bit lacking. The alerting also needs to be improved."
"I have not been using the solution for many years to know exactly the improvements needed. However, they could simplify how the YML files have to be structured properly."
"There should be more stability."
"Elasticsearch should have simpler commands for window filtering."
"Elastic Enterprise Search could improve its SSL integration easier. We should not need to go to the back-end servers to do configuration, we should be able to do it on the GUI."
"It was not possible to use authentication three years back. You needed to buy the product's services for authentication."
"The price could be better."
"It could simplify the implementation on the website."
"We have been using the service for more than two years, and our experience is only positive."
"The product is already at a very high level, but there is always room for further improvements, especially when we want to keep up with specific requirements and rapidly changing market trends."
"Integration with GA4 and a plugin integrating with Google Looker Studio would be very useful."
"However, we know that there's always room for improvement, and Luigi's Box has already made a lot of progress and it is still increasing its value and adding new features."
"Our products are really diverse. Not everything can be done automatically, and manual intervention is required."
"Deeper use of AI and ML - although with the advent of AI, new features have been implemented into Luigi's Box, there is still room for deeper integration."
"Enhancing the reporting and analytics capabilities would provide us with deeper insights into user behavior and search trends, helping us optimize our offerings further."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Elasticsearch is fair. It is a more expensive solution, like QRadar. The price for Elasticsearch is not much more than other solutions we have."
"The pricing structure depends on the scalability steps."
"It can be expensive."
"We are using the Community Edition because Elasticsearch's licensing model is not flexible or suitable for us. They ask for an annual subscription. We also got the development consultancy from Elasticsearch for 60 days or something like that, but they were just trying to do the same trick. That's why we didn't purchase it. We are just using the Community Edition."
"The pricing model is questionable and needs to be addressed because when you would like to have the security they charge per machine."
"The basic license is free, but it comes with a lot of features that aren't free. With a gold license, we get active directory integration. With a platinum license, we get alerting."
"ELK has been considered as an alternative to Splunk to reduce licensing costs."
"The solution is affordable."
