Has supported project lifecycles with design-first workflows and streamlined developer collaboration
The area of Figma I would prefer to see improved is the responsiveness of the developer tool. When you enable it, you can extract variations, but these variations are not responsive. If I design a page, and there's a way to choose a view, whether it is on mobile or tablet, which then automatically converts it to the responsive layout of the page I design, that would save considerable time. If I design for tablet view, and it automatically adjusts for mobile and different screen variations at the click of some drop-downs, that would be beneficial. Additionally, when we extract code, if it can provide variations for all different types in a responsive way using REM to adjust to different screen sizes and breakpoints, that would be extremely useful to have.

Visual collaboration has improved remote workflows and supports faster shared decisions
The best features Lucidchart offers are that it diagrams processes very well. It allows for project management to help with client timelines. It is also easy to use and create diagrams, especially mermaid diagrams. Collaborating is easy. Out of all those features, collaboration stands out to me the most because it is easy to share with team members to do joint design work. Lucidchart has positively impacted my organization by improving productivity and collaboration. In terms of specifics, collaboration helps us come to conclusions. I notice better throughput as it is easy to use. Improved productivity allows us to express ourselves more quickly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"File sharing is easy."
"It is challenging to identify downsides of Figma because for web design, it is the best tool available."
"Figma has positively impacted our organization because we just live in Figma and certain teams just live in Figma all the time, which has really allowed us to make sure that our designs are consistent and that there is a standard way of producing those designs and consuming those designs."
"Overall, Figma is a complete solution for product and UI design if you want to learn all its features for wireframing, making visual elements, using colors, and leveraging the many plugins it offers."
"We have seen a clear ROI using Figma, mainly in terms of time savings and improved workflow efficiency rather than direct cost reduction."
"I recommend Figma to other users because it enables team creation and provides multiple people access to the same project."
"I decided to switch to Figma because it is quick and seamless for my web design use cases."
"At the end of the day, I feel that I do not really have to leave the tool to do all this creative work, because I can get from the idea to a working prototype on Figma without thinking about any other tool."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use, and just being able to drag and drop."
"The biggest lesson that I have learned from using this product is that I don't need to struggle with creating org charts; it's quick and easy to use."
"Documenting things such as processes, systems, and new teams has been my primary use case. Lucidchart is really, really valuable for its ability to create a process chart from start to end. The web app makes it easy because everything is similar to other tools like Visio but Lucidchart feels a little bit more intuitive. It has been easy to use the web app. I definitely have learned a lot about how to bring in my own graphics or images in place of some of the shapes and I'm able to create and use the arrows within the processes, so it definitely has been useful for me."
"I have observed several advantages overall while using Lucidchart, as it has improved time to decision by at least fifteen percent, created more visibility over the process and decision-making across our business, and enabled collaboration across the team to improve by at least thirteen percent."
"One of the features that I really like is the collaboration aspect of it. During the pandemic, it's very important that we're able to collaborate virtually."
"The interface is very good and easy to use. We don't need documentation on how to use it. It is self-explanatory, which is very convenient for a new user."
"Easy to work on."
"With the clean format and the straightforward boxes and arrows and everything like that, it makes it so you don't have to dig and you don't have to spend personal time flipping through pages, because everything is right there and super easy to read and super understandable."

Cons

"There is one aspect of Figma that needs improvement."
"Sometimes the prototype view menu gets in the way of navigation, especially if the prototype has a menu at the top, and most of the time it does."
"One negative aspect about our main use case or how we used Figma in that project is that the notifications were a little bit difficult to follow."
"I have noticed that in the middle of each year, some glitches occur with Figma. Around October or September, when configurations are happening and new features are being released, I experience glitches, crashes, and various issues."
"Figma is costly, especially when sharing with others as you have to upgrade your plan."
"The product could be improved by addressing performance issues such as slowness, particularly with heavy or high-resolution images."
"The solution might not be affordable for teams of five or more people, making it somewhat expensive for small businesses."
"When working on heavy projects with many frames, components, and collaborators, the tool can sometimes feel slightly slower."
"There are not a lot of learning resources that Lucidchart shares with the user."
"It can have more colors or graphics. Currently, it is a little boring. It can have a little bit more fun factor."
"The communication with sales has been pretty poor. They have been spotty in terms of response."
"They should continue to bring in more shapes. Lucidchart could come up with more visualizations."
"One of the things that I find frustrating is that all of our Tableau information is on a server, so when I send that out people can't open it and use it."
"Additionally, it could improve offline accessibility or performance under low internet conditions, as I remember working on a workflow diagram in a car where I lost my network connection, and the entire diagram I had been working on disappeared."
"I wish Lucidchart would add dark mode to improve the user experience."
"Though I really appreciate Lucidchart, I feel it is not as intuitive as it could be."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Sigma's pricing is reasonable and accessible for both small and large firms."
"I'm happy with the pricing of Lucidchart but I can't say I'm completely happy with it. It could be cheaper for what it offers, about $5 cheaper, or Lucid could charge $5 more and add more features, like automation. Right now, it's $15 per user per month... On the other hand, they have made their billing super-easy for users, such as for people who have to do expense reports. It is probably the easiest platform I'm using when it comes to billing for software as a service."
"At €167 per user per year, the pricing is slightly higher than Visio, but it's worth it."
"We chose Lucid based on the price comparison between it and draw.io... Lucidchart was about 15 percent cheaper per user... I was surprised to learn that it came with a separate subscription model and was not included in my existing Lucidchart subscription."
"I have only used the trial version and have not yet paid for it, or explored the pricing options."
"Pricing comes in at about $100 for a year's subscription, which is very reasonable if this is a tool that you will use more than once."
"The pricing is very reasonable, and they have a free trial available that you can play with."
"I had a quick glimpse of it. It was about 100 Canadian Dollars a year for just me. I don't know if there are any additional costs."
"The price was low enough to make me think that it was fine, I'll go for it. I think it's $80 or so. It's not too expensive."
