Integration capabilities simplify authentication and migration challenges need addressing
The integration capabilities of Fortinet FortiAuthenticator are very interesting, as it can be integrated with third-party devices easily and is straightforward to configure. The integration with FortiToken is outstanding, adding a layer of security for authentication. In addition, it can be used by integrating with zero trust single access, enhancing overall security measures.

Simple to use, easy to set up, and performs well
I'm not saying that we want to switch the product, however, since the requirement has increased, we are looking at other options that may be better suited. The scalability may not there. We have a few specific use cases where we have to avoid the cloud. Especially in Europe, we're not allowed to carry their phone in factories. We need some sort of secure access solution. There's a dependency on Microsoft Azure. I am paying to SafeNet and in parallel, I also need to pay Microsoft to use the same service. That makes no sense, to pay double. If they could do something about it, that would be very good.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Enables easy integration, allowing for 2FA with our VPN."
"Intuitive interface and easy to deploy."
"FortiAuthenticator is easy to use."
"The most important feature is the security capability because it provides a substantial amount of security for admin-related activities."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is RADIUS service and the social network integration feature."
"I appreciate its ability to provide multi-factor authentication, but it's primarily focused on this function."
"It reduces the need for network administrator intervention by allowing the user to perform their own registration and resolve their own password problems and issues."
"Customer service and support are excellent."
"The interface is easy to use."
"The solution is simple to use."
"The validation and integrity features of the endpoint are great."

Cons

"It would be helpful to receive a code by yourself for authentication instead of it registered to a phone."
"There is a room for improvement. The log is a bit difficult to access, and searching the log codes is also a bit difficult. So it would be much better if, when we open a log, it could provide detailed information about errors, reasons for failure, and such."
"The product must provide 2FA for applications."
"I don't have any issues with this solution, but it may need a better, more user-friendly interface or better design of the platform."
"No SMS gateway from the ISP"
"The customization capability of Fortinet FortiAuthenticator is not very flexible."
"Fortinet FortiAuthenticator provides only authentication. It should also enable authorization services"
"I would like to see some email options for Fortinet FortiAuthenticator."
"Lacks the ability to integrate network monitoring solutions and authenticate the app users."
"There's a dependency on Microsoft Azure."
"SafeNet's reporting and monitoring features could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The platform provides a user-based pricing model rather than a subscription pricing model."

"It's not expensive."
"You can pay as you go with them. You purchase a base license and add to it as needed."
"The pricing is fair."
"I would rate the pricing a four out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. It is not that costly. It is cheap, easy to manage, easy to install, and easy to configure."
"The product has affordable pricing compared to other vendors."
