Sentiment score
9.0
Sophos EPP Suite offers scalable solutions for diverse organizations, accommodating growth and simplifying cloud deployments, despite third-party integration limits.
When implemented in a Fortinet environment with an existing firewall, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager, it is straightforward to install and scale by adding more EDR for endpoints.
I can give it nine points in terms of scalability.

8.7
Fortinet FortiEDR is stable and reliable but requires maintenance, with occasional issues like memory concerns and false alerts.
Sentiment score
8.4
Sophos EPP Suite is generally stable but has minor glitches; some users seek other solutions for better stability.
After that, I stopped scanning the Cisco AnyConnect and switched to Fortinet VPN. Everything worked fine afterward.
For stability, I would give it a score of ten, as we are not having any issues with that currently.

Room For Improvement

Fortinet FortiEDR needs improved cloud security, automation, and user interface for better market acceptance and competitive advantage.
Sophos EPP Suite needs improvements in migration, resource usage, integration, support, and user interface for better performance and compatibility.
Fortinet could consider reducing the minimum order quantity for EDR, currently set at 500 pieces.
Users have noted that daily upload limits per device, overall data lake storage capacity tied to licenses, and daily API query limits can be restrictive.
The enterprise integration is very poor, requiring a lot of manual work.
I think there should be templates in place so I do not have to make everything from scratch; having templates for NATing, de-NATing, and LAN to WAN rules would save us time.

Setup Cost

Fortinet FortiEDR offers competitive pricing but may have high setup costs, with potential savings through Fortinet's channel model.
Sophos EPP Suite offers competitive, often affordable pricing, with discounts for longer licenses, despite varying costs by features and users.
The pricing is moderate; I cannot label it as cheap, but it is moderate compared to other main solutions.
It's reasonably priced compared to other vendors' similar products.
The cost is reasonable and cheaper than other alternatives.

Valuable Features

Fortinet FortiEDR offers robust EDR capabilities, efficient resource use, and seamless integration, ensuring scalable, user-friendly cybersecurity for organizations.
Sophos EPP Suite offers seamless integration, advanced threat detection, centralized management, and user-friendly features for comprehensive security solutions.

Key features for comprehensive detection and prevention include advanced threat prevention, ransomware protections, exploit prevention, and AI-powered detections.
Web filtering helps provide protection by allowing me to block unwanted and unauthorized websites from Sophos EPP Suite, which helps prevent unauthorized intrusion, thus keeping our organization servers secure.
With the reseller management, I can manage multiple clients without having to log in to each client.

Has strengthened endpoint protection for on-premise networks and supported migration to Linux environments
What really stands out in Fortinet FortiEDR is that we are integrating it with some private clouds at the customer's premises with secure SD-WAN networks. I don't know how much it contributes to this SD-WAN network in the own premises cloud solution, but that is what we are doing. This is especially relevant for government projects where the SD-WAN solution is within their private network, not touching the Internet or any other access. Their first requirement is centralized management. Additionally, they need antivirus updates and other things to be done through a centralized platform within that private cloud. That is their requirement, and currently, we temporarily allow internet access, but it is not preferred. We are moving towards a complete air gap, providing full isolation from the internet for that. We have started to work with machine learning capabilities in Fortinet FortiEDR. We are not that well-versed yet, but we have begun using machine learning for intrusion detection and other purposes. Regarding forensic analysis in Fortinet FortiEDR, it is useful in understanding attack vectors because our projects are based on the voice side, such as cloud PBX solutions and call center management. There are media activities and many attacks coming from the outside, as well as vulnerabilities from endpoints. In those cases, we need detailed analysis through an AI platform to inspect how these attacks are coming. We also require a proactive protection mechanism, including an alarm system for threat detection before attacks occur.

Experience significant threat prevention advancements with user-friendly deployment
The feature is called relay server, and some people refer to it as a cache server. The Sophos EPP Suite is scalable. Some customers in banks typically have 5,000 to 7,000 users. One customer started with 1,000 users and has now extended to 4,000 users. Some customers are using up to 8,000 users without any issues. Regarding AI elements in the Sophos EPP Suite, firewalls have already introduced AI features. They have integrated AI models similar to ChatGPT in firewalls. These AI features should be introduced in endpoint XDR as well. Key features for comprehensive detection and prevention include advanced threat prevention, ransomware protections, exploit prevention, and AI-powered detections. Extended visibility and data analysis include cross-product data correlations. They have a data lake, live discover, and threat graphs. They also offer AI case summary and AI common analysis, accessible from Sophos Central, which is the management portal for Sophos XDR. Sophos Central serves as one central management portal for managing firewalls, endpoint, Sophos encryption, and mobile device management solutions. This centralized management is particularly appealing to customers.
