Reviews from Real Users
Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.
An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”
Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”
Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

|---|---|---|
| Web Relationship Manager (WRM) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited | 5.0 | We've used Fortinet FortiEDR for two years in private cloud projects with SD-WAN, and it's stable, scalable, and integrates well with AI/ML; training on newer tech would help, and support has been excellent. |
| Pre Sales/ Cybersecurity Engineer at Contacta | 4.5 | I work in pre-sales and find Fortinet FortiEDR effective due to its unified agent, strong integration, behavioral AI, and extensive security features. While I can't speak to pricing, I’d rate the solution 9 out of 10. |
| Security Team Lead at a outsourcing company with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.5 | I use FortiEDR as an additional layer to my Fortinet network solutions, finding its data collection valuable for analytics. While satisfied overall, I'd suggest Fortinet reduce the minimum EDR order quantity to accommodate smaller markets. |
| Cyber Security Administrator at Ishida Europe | 3.5 | I use Fortinet FortiEDR for endpoint protection alongside Windows Defender. Its investigation tab and granular control are valuable, especially for zero-day threats. However, the user interface is outdated, and setting up policies is cumbersome compared to Sentinel. |
| vCISO / GRC / Cybersecurity consultant at a tech services company with 1-10 employees | 3.5 | At our company, we assess clients using Fortinet Firewalls to integrate with FortiEDR for enhanced network visibility. The solution boasts superior detection capabilities but needs better intelligence features. Competitors like Palo Alto and Sophos offer stronger alternatives. |
| CIO at a manufacturing company with 51-200 employees | 3.0 | We implemented Fortinet FortiEDR for endpoint security, replacing our previous solution, and were attracted by its potential integration with FortiGate firewalls. While it protects against new threats, integration issues and false positives have increased our workload. |
| Information Security Lead - Blue Team at FinAccel Pte Ltd. | 4.0 | I use Fortinet FortiEDR to protect workstations from ransomware, valuing its advanced antivirus features and automated threat response. However, I face challenges with the Mac environment, needing improvements in UI, UX, and configuration control. |
| System Administrator at KREBS+KIEFER | 4.5 | Fortinet FortiEDR effectively detects and blocks threats, proving more proactive than firewalls. However, the delay in communication from the managed service provider is frustrating, as timely information on blocked events is crucial for us to understand incidents immediately. |
